Genome‐Wide In Silico Analysis of the Type VI Secretion System (T6SS) Within the Morganella Genus
▪ Species‐specific T6SS patterns among Morganella genus (M. morganii and M. sibonii). ▪ Only one‐third of M. morganii isolates haboured a T6SS. ▪ All M. sibonii possess four T6SS clusters. ▪ M. sibonii exhibited a wide diversity of effectors compared to M. morganii.

Protein acetylation in archaea, bacteria, and eukaryotes [PDF]
Proteins can be acetylated at the alpha-amino group of the N-terminal amino acid (methionine or the penultimate amino acid after methionine removal) or at the epsilon-amino group of internal lysines.

In order to elucidate the importance of a ferredoxin (Fd) Arg‐Glu pair involved in dynamic exchange from intra‐ to intermolecular salt bridges upon complex formation with ferredoxin‐NADP+ oxidoreductase (FNR), Equisetum arvense FdI and FdII were investigated as normal and the pair‐lacking Fd, respectively.

Exploring and Targeting the Connection of Iron and Copper Homeostasis to Neurodegenerative Diseases
Iron and copper dyshomeostasis, along with their interactions with key intrinsically disordered proteins (e.g., Aβ, tau, α‐synuclein) have a strong implication in the onset and progression of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), Prion diseases (PrDs), Huntington's disease (HD), Wilson's disease (WD),

The Role of N6‐Methyladenosine Modification in Health and Disease
N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) is the most prevalent internal RNA modification in eukaryotes, acting as a pivotal epitranscriptomic regulator of RNA metabolism. This modification plays a dual role: it maintains physiological homeostasis under normal conditions but drives disease progression when dysregulated.

Simultaneous expression of ferredoxin, ferredoxin reductase and P450 in COS7 cells
cDNA fragments encoding mouse ferredoxin and ferredoxin reductase were simultaneously introduced into COS7 cells by using an expression vector, pUC-SR alpha plasmid. When using the mitochondrial fraction prepared from the transfected cells, cytochrome-c reductase activity was detected.

Structural Analysis and Inhibitor Modeling of Bacterioferritin From Brucella abortus
ABSTRACT Iron homeostasis in various pathogenic bacteria is regulated by bacterioferritins (Bfr) which function to store Fe3+ and release Fe2+ as needed for metabolic processes. The Bfr structure consists of 18 kDa subunits in which dimer pairs bind a heme molecule and are assembled into a highly symmetrical 24‐meric spherical structure with an ...
