Investigation of Electro‐Oxidation and Ozonation for Removal of Organics in Wastewater Derived From Recycling Process for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesCleanMat, EarlyView.
To develop recycling processes for lithium‐ion batteries, wastewater treatment for the removal of organic compounds originating from the electrolyte was investigated using electro‐oxidation and ozonation. Based on the results, this paper proposes a process which combines these two methods to remove alcohols derived from the solvent and additives ...

Electrochemistry in silver catalysed ferric sulfate leaching of chalcopyrite [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
journal articlePrevious investigations have demonstrated the catalytic effect of silver additions in the ferric sulfate leaching of chalcopyrite. CuFeS2 + 4Fe+3 > Cu++ + 5Fe++ + 2S° The enhanced rate of leaching was found to be due to the formation

Transcriptomic Profiling of SLC and ABC Transporters in the Human Term Placenta

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Solute carriers (SLC) and ATP‐binding cassette (ABC) transporters are essential for placental solute exchange and fetal protection, yet their transcriptomic profiles in the human placenta remain poorly characterized. Although fetal sex influences placental development and function, its impact on transporter expression is unclear.

Bio‐based tannin‐loaded layered double hydroxides in epoxy coatings for smart corrosion protection of steel in underground infrastructure

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study presents a sustainable smart‐coating strategy for protecting underground steel infrastructures from chloride‐induced corrosion. Zinc‐aluminum layered double hydroxides (LDHs) and tannin‐loaded LDHs (LDH–TA) were incorporated into an epoxy matrix to provide both enhanced barrier properties and active, pH‐responsive inhibition.

The effect of ZnSO4 and Fe2(SO4)3 on the pyrolysis of cocoa shells: A tg-FTIR study

open access: yesHeliyon
Pyrolysis stands out as one potential route for valorizing abundant agro-industrial cocoa residues. However, the products of this reaction, particularly bio-oil, do not possess the required quality for direct use in many applications.

Increased calcification by erythrophagocytosis in aortic valvular interstitial cells

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1469-1473, April 2025.
Abstract Background Calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD) progresses over time to severe aortic stenosis and eventually heart failure. Recent evidence indicates that intraleaflet haemorrhage (ILH) strongly promotes CAVD progression. However, it remains poorly understood how it mechanistically contributes to valvular calcification.
