Serum Cytokine Profiling Differentiates Underlying Diseases in Cytokine Storm Syndrome
Serum cytokine profiling was performed using Luminex (48 cytokines) and ELISA (5 cytokines). Assessment of key cytokines (IFN‐α, IL‐18, IL‐6, CXCL9) delineated five dominant inflammatory patterns: I, IFN‐α–dominant CSS; II, IL‐18–dominant CSS; III, IL‐6–dominant CSS; IV, IFN‐γ–dominant CSS; and V, IL‐6 & IFN‐γ intermediate CSS.

Iron at the center of ferritin, metal/oxygen homeostasis and novel dietary strategies
Bioiron _ central to respiration, photosynthesis and DNA synthesis and complicated by radical chemistry with oxygen _ depends on ferritin, the super family of protein nanocages (maxi-ferritins in humans, animals, plants and bacteria, and mini-ferritins ...

Ferromagnetism in two mouse tumours [PDF]
A variety of living organisms has been found recently that are biochemically able to precipitate the ferromagnetic mineral magnetite (Fe3O4). Originally discovered in the radular teeth of a primitive marine mollusc (Lowenstam, 1962), magnetite has since ...

Predictors of anemia in preschool children: Biomarkers Reflecting Inflammation and Nutritional Determinants of Anemia (BRINDA) project. [PDF]
Background: A lack of information on the etiology of anemia has hampered the design and monitoring of anemia-control efforts. Objective: We aimed to evaluate predictors of anemia in preschool children (PSC) (age range: 6-59 mo) by country and infection ...

The synthesized CCzymes possess both antioxidant enzyme activity and pharmacological properties inherent to Coptis chinensis. By their antioxidant enzyme activity, CCzymes can attenuate oxidative stress within the inflammatory region of ulcerative colitis (UC), while their pharmacological activity acts on macrophage polarization and the intestinal ...

EVALUATION OF IRON ACCUMULATION DURING CHILDHOOD CANCER TREATMENT
Objective: Iron overload is a major concern in pediatric oncology, particularly with frequent blood transfusions. Although serum ferritin levels are commonly used as a marker, cardiac and hepatic T2* MRI is the gold standard for accurate assessment. This

The Potential of Phytochemicals to Overcome Multidrug Resistance in Metastatic Melanoma
ABSTRACT Metastatic melanoma is the most lethal form of skin cancer, accounting for most skin cancer‐related deaths. Immunotherapies and targeted therapies have improved overall and progression‐free survival rates in metastatic melanoma patients. The effectiveness of these therapies decreases due to multidrug resistance (MDR).
