A coherent phthalimide acceptor platform with planar (Cz—carbazole) and spiro‐type (SAF—spiroacridine fluorene) donors enables systematic tuning of donor geometry and coupling, driving the evolution of excited‐state topology from classical CT‐TADF and fluorescence/RTP to CT‐driven and LE‐assisted TADF with OLED efficiencies ≈ 36%.

Deprotonative C(sp3)/C(sp2)–H (Multi)Silylation of (Hetero)Arenes Mediated by NaTMP
An operationally simple protocol using a strongly basic sodium amide in combination with sterically emcumbered silicon electrophiles enables the deprotonative C–H (multi)silylation of a myriad of (hetero)arenes. Mechanistic investigations highlight the pivotal role of steric and coordination effects in controlling the regioselectivity and efficiency of

Methyl 2-[(ferrocenylcarbonyl)amino]thiophene-3-carboxylate [PDF]
The title compound, [Fe(C₅H₅)(C₁₂H₁₀NO₃S)], was synthesized from ferrocenecarboxylic acid and methyl 2-aminothiophene-3-carboxylate in modest yield. The substituted ring system is essentially planar through the amidothienylcarboxylate moiety, η⁵-(C₅H₄ ...

Monomeric and dimeric anhydride-functionalized ferrocene: synthesis and structural analysis
A series of mono-substituted ferrocene-based anhydrides of the general formula FcCO2COAr (Fc = Fe(η5-C5H5)(η5-C5H4); Ar = Ph (1a), 4-Cl-C6H4 (1b), 4-CH3-C6H4 (1c)) were synthesized by acyl substitution of ferrocene carboxylic acid with the corresponding ...

An investigation into the unusual linkage isomerization and nitrite reduction activity of a novel tris(2-pyridyl) copper complex [PDF]
The copper-containing nitrite reductases (CuNIRs) are a class of enzymes that mediate the reduction of nitrite to nitric oxide in biological systems. Metal–ligand complexes that reproduce the salient features of the active site of CuNIRs are therefore of

Plasma decomposition of ferrocene
Ferrocene [Fe(C5H5)2 or FeCp2] is a well-known precursor molecule for iron in vapor deposition of iron containing films by, e.g., chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes. CVD processes often use the energy in plasma discharges to decompose precursor molecules, which allows lowering the substrate temperature for deposition on sensitive materials ...

Cyclic oligomers comprising strongly interacting redox-active monomer units represent an unknown, yet highly desirable class of nanoscale materials. Here we describe the synthesis and properties of the first family of molecules belonging to this compound category-differently sized rings comprising only 1,1'-disubstituted ferrocene units (cyclo[n], n ...
