Perinatal lead (Pb) exposure and alterations to amyloid beta and metabolic profiles in the brain

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Developmental neurotoxicant exposures (e.g., lead [Pb]) are suspected contributors to dementia. Dementia is characterized by amyloid beta (Aβ) plaques and dysregulated metabolism. To better understand the relationship between environment and dementia risk, we assessed the impact of perinatal Pb exposure on dementia‐related ...

Evaluation of the Expression and Prognosis of Neural‐Related Products Expressed by Cancer‐Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells With the Characteristics of Neural Stem Cells

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Studies have demonstrated that the nervous system plays an important role in cancer progression. Nevertheless, the effect of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) on cancer has yielded conflicting results. In this study, we discovered that cancer‐derived MSCs (CA‐MSCs) not only exhibit the properties of neural stem cells (NSCs) but also express a ...
