Compressive-Sensing-based Multidimensional Doppler signal analysis for fetal activity monitoring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
International audienceFetal activity monitoring is an important part of monitoring at-risk pregnancies and labor. Fetal activity parameters (FAP) consist of fetal heart rate (FHR), fetal movements (FM) rate, fetal tone, fetal breathing (FB) and movement.

Bio‐Orthogonally Crosslinked Supramolecular Polymer Bottlebrush Hydrogels for Long‐Term 3D Cell Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fibrous benzenetrispeptide (BTP) hydrogels, fabricated via strain‐promoted azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) crosslinking, form robust, bioinert networks. These hydrogels can support 3D cell culture, where cell viability and colony growth depend on the fiber content.

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

Amélioration de l'estimation du rythme cardiaque foetal en utilisant les signaux Doppler directionnels et YIN [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
National audienceTechniques dedicated to the fetal heart rate detection identify the patterns that repeat themselves over the time. The heart rate estimation is algorithmically similar to the estimation of the fundamental frequency (pitch) of voice ...

Cardiac‐Derived ECM Microspheres for Enhanced hiPSC‐CMs Maturation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cardiac extracellular matrix microspheres derived from decellularized porcine heart provide a biomimetic 3D microenvironment for human induced pluripotent stem cell–derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC‐CMs). This platform supports short‐ and long‐term culture, enhances structural organization, and promotes electrophysiological and functional maturation of ...

The relationship between fetal distress and umbilical venous troponin T during labor [PDF]

open access: yesMajallah-i Zanān, Māmā̓ī va Nāzā̓ī-i Īrān, 2019
Introduction: For many years, electrocardiogram have been used to diagnose fetal distress around childbirth. If the heart cells are damaged, troponin T is released. Few studies have been performed about the relationship between abnormality of fetal heart

VIVID: A qPCR‐Based Platform for Sensitive and Quantitative In Vivo Tracking of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces VIVID (Vesicle In Vivo Identification using DNA), a qPCR‐based platform that tracks PCR‐amplifiable DNA tags loaded in the EVs for accurate and quantifiable EV biodistribution in vivo. ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) represent promising carriers for nucleic acid therapeutics, offering advantages over synthetic nanoparticles ...

Fetal heart rate changes and labor neuraxial analgesia: a machine learning approach

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, 2023
Background Neuraxial labor analgesia has been associated with fetal heart rate changes. Fetal bradycardia is multifactorial, and predicting it poses a significant challenge to clinicians.

Comparison of diurnal variations, gestational age and gender related differences in fetal heart rate (FHR) parameters between appropriate-for-gestational-age (AGA) and small-for-gestational-age (SGA) fetuses in the home environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Objective To assess the influence of gender, time of the day and gestational age on fetal heart rate (FHR) parameters between appropriate-for-gestational-age (AGA) and small-for-gestational age (SGA) fetuses using a portable fetal ECG monitor employed ...
