ABSTRACT Aim Limited information on early risk factors of Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) exists, especially in term‐born children. We examined possible causal effects of early risk factors on DCD in predominantly term‐born children. Methods An add‐on study to the Dutch Lifelines Cohort was performed in 2017.

The Relationship between Umbilical Artery PH and Maternal Risk Factors in Premature Birth
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: In many deliveries, determination of umbilical artery PH is considered a suitable tool for predicting the risk of damage to the fetus and determining the likelihood of associated complications. This study was performed in ...

ABSTRACT Aim Portable bedside nasal continuous positive airway pressure in the delivery room (bedside nCPAP) allows the newborn infant to remain with the mother in the delivery room while receiving nCPAP. This study aimed to evaluate the duration of nCPAP treatment and length of stay (LOS) in newborn infants with respiratory distress receiving bedside ...

Predicting Surfactant Need at Birth: Failed Validation of a Bedside Method Using Gastric Aspirates
ABSTRACT Aim To validate a prototype point‐of‐care (POC) test for the lecithin/sphingomyelin (L/S) ratio by identifying the optimal L/S cut‐off for predicting surfactant need in preterm infants < 30 weeks' gestation using gastric aspirates (GAS) sampled at birth and to assess clinical feasibility.

Spontaneous conception and pregnancy outcomes after multi-agent chemotherapy and high-dose radiotherapy for pelvic Ewing sarcoma: Case report and literature review. [PDF]
Abstract Ewing sarcoma is an aggressive, rare bone and soft tissue malignancy, often affecting the long bones and pelvis. A woman was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma of the left pelvis at 18 years of age. Here, we generated a DDC‐KO cellular model for studying aromatic amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) deficiency. This model was created using CRISPR‐Cas9 in the SH‐SY5Y neuroblastoma cell line and was validated through the absence of the dopamine product and an altered l‐dopa metabolite profile.

High‐pressure freezing of mechanically stretched cells
Abstract High‐pressure freezing (HPF) is an electron microscopy (EM) preparation technique with superb ultrastructural preservation. Combined with EM tomography it provides virtual EM serial sections with extraordinary spatial resolution. For HPF, cells are usually cultured on a rigid sapphire disc that provides a tight fit in the holding bracket of ...
