High‐sensitivity CRP is elevated in pregnant women with overweight and obesity and modulated by gestational weight gain

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 104, Issue 7, Page 1339-1346, July 2025.
The adverse inflammatory phenotype in overweight and obese pregnant women is characterized by markedly elevated levels of hs‐CRP throughout pregnancy and partially modified by maternal gestational weight gain. This highlights the interplay between obesity, inflammation, and weight management during pregnancy.

High‐throughput screening identifies bazedoxifene as a potential therapeutic for dysferlin‐deficient limb girdle muscular dystrophy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 182, Issue 13, Page 2930-2949, July 2025.
Abstract Background and Purpose Limb‐girdle muscular dystrophy R2 (LGMD R2) is a rare genetic disorder characterised by progressive weakness and wasting of proximal muscles. LGMD R2 is caused by the loss of function of dysferlin, a transmembrane protein crucial for plasma membrane repair in skeletal muscles.

Tetrahedral Framework Nucleic Acid‐Based Delivery of DJ‐1‐saRNA Prevent Retinal Ischaemia–Reperfusion Injury via Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 58, Issue 7, July 2025.
Illustration of the preparation of tFNAs‐DJ‐1 saRNAs complex and its inhibitory effects on ferroptosis in R28 and retina. ABSTRACT Retinal ischaemia/reperfusion injury (RI/RI) is the primary pathophysiological mechanism underlying retinal ischaemic diseases, potentially resulting in significant and irreversible visual impairment.
