Observation of multimode solitons in few-mode fiber
We experimentally isolate and directly observe multimode solitons in few-mode graded-index fiber. By varying the input energy and modal composition of the launched pulse, we observe a continuous variation of multimode solitons with different spatiotemporal properties. They exhibit an energy-volume relation that is distinct from those of single-mode and

Enhancement of modal stability through reduced mode coupling in a few-mode fiber for mode division multiplexing [PDF]
We demonstrate a novel approach to enhance the modal stability between the modes of a few-mode fiber (FMF) by increasing the effective index differences between these modes.

Sub-sampled modal decomposition in few-mode fibers
Retrieving modal contents from a multimode beam profile can provide the most detailed information of a beam. Numerical modal decomposition is a method of retrieving modal contents, and it has gained significant attention owing to its simplicity. It only requires a measured beam profile and an algorithm.

Few-Mode Fibers: Characterizations and Applications
We report design guidelines and modal loss characterizations (light scattering and extra-loss phenomena) of few-mode fibers that allow optimizing their crosstalk, differential mode group delay and differential mode attenuation for practical applications.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...
