Compact 85 fs frequency doubled 810 nm fiber system with 60 mW of average power

open access: yes, 2005
We demonstrate a sub-100 fs frequency doubled fiber laser operating at 810 nm. The laser produces 60 mW of average power at a repetition rate of 50 MHz.

High Core count Multicore Fiber Amplifiers

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics 2017 (IPR, NOMA, Sensors, Networks, SPPCom, PS), 2017
We will review our work on high core count, up to 32-core, cladding pumped multicore Erbium/Ytterbium-doped fiber amplifiers, and their successful operations as in-line amplifiers in space-division multiplexed systems.

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Metal Integration Principles, Strategies and Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

Imaging of Biphoton States: Fundamentals and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Quantum states of two photons exhibit a rich polarization and spatial structure, which provides a fundamental resource of strongly correlated and entangled states. This review analyzes the physics of these intriguing properties and explores the various techniques and technologies available to measure them, including the state of the art of their ...

Cylindrical Vector Beams with an MOPA Amplifier Based on Nonlinear Polarization Rotation Mode-Locking

open access: yesPhotonics
CVBs (cylindrical vector beams) are widely used in optical imaging, optical trapping, material processing, etc. In this study, based on mode-selective couplers and passive mode-locking fiber technology, a cylindrical vector fiber amplifier with an MOPA ...

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

Heavily Tm3+-Doped Silicate Fiber for High-Gain Fiber Amplifiers

open access: yesFibers, 2013
We report on investigation the potential of a 7 wt% (8.35 × 1020 Tm3+/cm3) doped silicate fibers for high-gain fiber amplifiers. Such a high ion concentration significantly reduces the required fiber length of high-power 2 μm fiber laser systems and ...
