Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Optical Fiber Amplifiers: Optimization and PerformanceEvaluation

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2019
This work demonstrates the simulation of two different types of optical fiber amplifiers (OFA) utilizing OptiSystem–10, namely, 3 m length of erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) and 7 km length of Raman fiber amplifier (RFA).

32-core erbium/ytterbium-doped multicore fiber amplifier for next generation space-division multiplexed transmission system

open access: yes, 2017
We present a high-core-count 32-core multicore erbium/ytterbium-doped fiber amplifier (32c-MC-EYDFA) in a cladding pumped configuration. A side pumping technique is employed for ease of pump coupling in this monolithic all-fiber amplifier. A minimum gain

Sub-MW peak power diffraction-limited chirped-pulse monolithic Yb-doped tapered fiber amplifier.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
We demonstrate a novel amplification regime in a counter-pumped, relatively long (2 meters), large mode area, highly Yb-doped and polarization-maintaining tapered fiber, which offers a high peak power directly from the amplifier. The main feature of this

1.2dB/cm gain in an erbium:lutecium co-doped Al/P silica fibre

open access: yes, 1998
We report a peak gain of 1.2dB/cm at 1535nm in an Erbium:Lutecium codoped Al/P/Si fibre fabricated using a standard MCVD and solution doping technique. This is the highest gain per unit length yet reported in an erbium doped fiber amplifier.

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Filtered pseudo random modulated fiber amplifier with enhanced coherence and nonlinear suppression.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
Pseudo random phase modulation signals have been shown to provide considerable stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) suppression in narrow linewidth Yb-doped all-fiber amplifiers.

$\hbox{Er}^{3+}$ and $\hbox{Ce}^{3+}$ Codoped Tellurite Optical Fiber for Lasers and Amplifiers in the Near-Infrared Wavelength Region: Fabrication, Optical Characterization, and Prospects

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2012
A tellurite optical fiber doped with Er3+ and Ce3+ ions was designed and fabricated with the aim of assessing its suitability as laser and optical amplifier operating at 1550 nm, compatible with silica fiber standard dimensions.
