Generation of Bragg similaritons in nonlinear fiber Bragg gratings with gain [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
We have explored through numerical simulations the amplification of laser pulses in nonlinear fiber Bragg gratings with gain and normal dispersion. The distortion of the temporal intensity profile caused by the higher-order dispersion coefficients is examined. The stabilizing effect of fourth-order dispersion on pulse propagation is demonstrated.

Optical frequency generation using fiber Bragg grating filters for applications in portable quantum sensing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
A method for the agile generation of the optical frequencies required for laser cooling and atom interferometry of rubidium is demonstrated. It relies on fiber Bragg grating technology to filter the output of an electro-optic modulator and was demonstrated in a robust, alignment-free, single-seed, frequency-doubled, telecom fiber laser system.

An Offline‐Cascade‐Online Learning‐Based Algorithm for Distal Trajectory Estimation of Medical Continuum Manipulators

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An offline‐cascade‐online (OCO) estimation algorithm that achieves the distal trajectory estimation in unstructured working space and with long‐term visual occlusion is proposed. This OCO estimation algorithm cascades a backpropagation‐based offline learning and a radial basis function‐based online learning network, realizing the prior estimation and ...

Inverse-Gaussian-Apodized Fiber Bragg Grating for Dual Wavelength Lasing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
A fiber Bragg grating (FBG) with an inverse-Gaussian apodization function is proposed and fabricated. It is shown that such a FBG possesses easily controllable dual-wavelength narrow transmission peaks. Incorporating such a FBG filter in a fiber laser with a linear cavity, stable dual-wavelength emission with 0.146 nm wavelength spacing is obtained. It
