Magnetically Tunable Fiber Bragg Gratings
Wavelength Division Multiplexing Components, 1999We believe we report the first demonstration of a broad-range (15.7 nm) tuning of fiber Bragg grating using fast, programmable, and latchable magnetic actuation. A key advantage is that the device requires no power except when shifting wavelengths.

Polymer micro-fiber Bragg grating
Optics Letters, 2013Polymer micro-fibers with inscribed Bragg gratings are reported in this Letter. Starting with a single-mode polymer optical fiber and implementing a two-stage tapering process, a 16 μm diameter micro-fiber is fabricated and a Bragg grating is inscribed in it that exhibits a peak reflected wavelength circa 1530 nm.

Periodic waves in fiber Bragg gratings
Physical Review E, 2008We construct two families of exact periodic solutions to the standard model of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) with Kerr nonlinearity. The solutions are named "sn" and "cn" waves, according to the elliptic functions used in their analytical representation. The sn wave exists only inside the FBG's spectral bandgap, while waves of the cn type may only exist at

Temperature characteristic of fiber Bragg grating
Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Electronic & Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology, 2011The basic principle of temperature sensor based on fiber Bragg grating (FBG) is analyzed. A fiber Bragg grating temperature sensor is designed and produced. Using fiber Bragg grating as the sensor, fiber Bragg grating analyzer to demodulation the wavelength shift, the relationship between FBG wavelength shift and temperature is measured.

Structured Chirped Fiber Bragg Gratings
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2008In this paper, a theoretical and numerical analysis of novel in-fiber photonic devices based on a structured chirped fiber Bragg gratings (CFBGs) for sensing and communication applications is presented. The investigated structure consists in a CFBG with single or multiple defects obtained by a deep and localized stripping of the cladding layer along ...

Tilted fiber Bragg grating sensors
Laser & Photonics Reviews, 2012AbstractOptical fiber gratings have developed into a mature technology with a wide range of applications in various areas, including physical sensing for temperature, strain, acoustic waves and pressure. All of these applications rely on the perturbation of the period or refractive index of a grating inscribed in the fiber core as a transducing ...

Fiber Bragg Gratings in Industrial Sensing
Optical Fiber Communication Conference/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference 2013, 2013The tutorial is based on technical experiences obtained during development and numerous practical industry deployments of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors and sensor systems. Technical means will be analyzed, which make FBG to an attractive sensing solution: draw tower Bragg grating technology, sensor-specific fiber coatings, sensor packaging.
