Generation of optical signals carrying OAM based on vortex fiber-optic periodic structures
In this article, author considers the process of generation of fiber modes carrying orbital angular momentum (vortex modes) using chiral fiber Bragg gratings; in this context, the formation of vortex modes is carried out by converting thefundamental mode

Research of the Spectral Characteristics of Apodized Fiber Bragg Gratings [PDF]
Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG) are widely used in different areas of the state-of–the -art fiber optics. Every task imposes specified requirements to the FBG spectral characteristics, which are scheduled at the gratings manufacturing stage. Manufacturing and

Pose Measurement of Flexible Medical Instruments Using Fiber Bragg Gratings in Multi-Core Fiber
Accurate navigation of flexible medical instruments like catheters require the knowledge of its pose, that is its position and orientation. In this paper multi-core fibers inscribed with fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) are utilized as sensors to measure the ...

Bound States in the Continuum in Fiber Bragg Gratings [PDF]
Optical fibers typically confine light through total internal reflection or through photonic bandgaps. Here we show that light can be perfectly guided in optical fibers through a different mechanism based on bound states in the continuum (BICs).

A Fiber Bragg Grating-Based Anemometer [PDF]
A novel fiber anemometer based on two pairs of fiber gratings is experimentally demonstrated and can simultaneously detect wind speed and wind direction. One pair of gratings, which are separated by 90° in space, is fixed on a small stainless steel pipe driven by a rotating disc for measuring the wind-direction angle.

Wavelength tunable TFBG based microwave sensor using surface plasmon resonance
A noble idea is used to propose a wavelength tunable tilted Fiber Bragg Gratings based microwave sensor using surface plasmon resonance. The Bragg wavelength shifts linearly about 6 pm/°C, due to the temperature change.
