Characterization of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) for Weight Measurement System

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2023
Currently, FBG sensor has been developed in many applications due to its wavelength is sensitive to pressure change. This study aims to analyze the FBG wavelength shifting due to an applied load. In this research, the FBG was placed transversely right in the middle of the specimen that was made by using silicon rubber with thicknesses of 7 mm and 14 mm.

Reflectivity measurement of weak fiber Bragg grating (FBG)

Journal of Wuhan University of Technology-Mater. Sci. Ed., 2012
One method based on the end-face reflection as a reference was used to measure weak grating reflectivity of 0.01%–1%. For measuring ultra-weak grating reflectivity, the grating group with an identical wavelength was used. By using anhydrous alcohol and deionized water as the reflecting medium, the singlepulse FBG reflectivity of a highly doped-Ge ...

Embedded fiber optic Bragg grating (FBG) detonation velocity sensor

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
In order to fully calibrate hydrocodes and dynamic chemistry burn models, initiation models and detonation models of high explosives, the ability to continuously measure the detonation velocity within an explosive is required. Progress on an embedded velocity diagnostic using a 125 micron diameter optical fiber containing a chirped fiber Bragg grating ...

Miniature fiber Bragg grating sensor interrogator (FBG-Transceiver) system

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
This paper describes recent progress conducted towards the development of a miniature fiber Bragg grating sensor interrogator (FBG-Transceiver TM ) system based on multi-channel integrated optic sensor (InOSense TM ) microchip technology. The hybrid InOSense TM microchip technology enables the integration of all of the functionalities, both passive

A novel fiber Bragg grating (FBG) soil strain sensor

Measurement, 2019
Abstract Soil, as an indispensable composition for building foundation materials, plays a significant role in safety and service life of buildings. However, in different regions, soil properties are distinct and complex. With the technology development, studies on soil properties based on soil strain has become important.

A high sensitive fiber Bragg grating(FBG) geophone detecting system

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
A high sensitive fiber Bragg grating (FBG) geophone detecting system based on narrow line width distributed feedback (DFB) laser is realized by using filtering demodulation. Sensitivity of FBG geophone lies on the structure of the sensor shell and the shape of the reflectivity spectrum of FBG.

Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) characterization and shaping by local pressure

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2001
The spatial distribution of the chirp profile of a 4-cm-long nonuniform fiber Bragg grating (FBG) was studied with the exertion of local pressure on the fiber through the application of transverse force to a small grating section (/spl sim/0.3 mm).

IDENTIFICATION OF TEMPERATURE SENSITIVITY DETECTOR ON FIBER BRAGG GRATING (FBG) SENSOR

Kontrol'. Diagnostika, 2022
The article presents the results of work on the study of the dependence of the results of temperature measurements using fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). It was found that FBGs not only have different initial sensitivity, but also exhibit nonlinearity even in a narrow temperature range (from –30 to +70 °C).

Fiber optic acoustic sensor based on Fiber Bragg grating Fabry-Perot(FBG-FP)cavity

2021 19th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN), 2021
An acoustic sensor based on Fiber Bragg grating and Fabry Perot (FBG-FP) cavity is introduced in this paper. In the low frequency (20 Hz) field, the sensitivity reaches 0.43 V/Pa. In the intermediate frequency range of 700 Hz-2 kHz, it has relatively flat frequency response characteristics, and the sensitivity is 28.2 mV/Pa.
