Using neural networks for fiber content analysis

IJCNN'99. International Joint Conference on Neural Networks. Proceedings (Cat. No.99CH36339), 2003
For a number of years fiber content analysis has presented a challenging problem because of the complexity of the contents of textile material. This work is much needed for automated systems which ideally should be able to identify nondestructively the fiber content by using the acquired images.

Glycemic response and fiber content of some foods

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1991
The proposed mechanisms for the action of dietary fiber (DF) on the glycemic response suggest a nonlinear relationship between glycemic index (GI) and DF content. This relationship was analyzed by using the newly reported total DF (TDF) values, assuming a nonlinear regression curve. The empirical equation obtained was Y = 19.9X-0.322.

Muscle fiber content of the heart in African cardiomyopathy

American Heart Journal, 1966
Abstract Measurements were made, on microscopic sections, of muscle fiber size and number in 19 cases of African cardiomyopathy. These measurements were made at standard left and right ventricular sites away from the apical areas of scarring. The only significant differences from normal controls were a greater total muscle fiber width in the right ...

Collagen: Mobile Water Content of Frozen Fibers

Science, 1970
From the change in the nuclear magnetic resonance splitting of heavy water in oriented wet collagen fibers at low temperatures, it is estimated that about 0.6 gram of heavy water per gram of collagen does not freeze. This estimate has been confirmed by a measurement of the heat evolved on melting "frozen" wet collagen.

Effect of Fiber Content and Fiber Treatment on Flexural Properties of Sisal Fiber/Glass Fiber Hybrid Composites

Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites, 2004
The variations of flexural strength and flexural modulus of unsaturated polyester-based sisal/glass hybrid composites with fiber content have been studied. The hybrid composites showed an increase in flexural properties with glass fiber loading. The effects of alkali treatment and silane treatment of fibers on the flexural properties of these sisal ...

A Fiber Optic Contention Bus with Bounded Delays

IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1985
This paper describes the operation of a new type of fiber optic local area network (LAN) that has most of the advantages of both the contention and token systems. The new system, called PRENET, is basically a contention system; it has no collisions, no message size or cable length limitations, and no stability problems.

Effect of fiber length and fiber content on mechanical properties of banana fiber/epoxy composite

Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites, 2011
The main factors that influence the properties of composite are fiber length and content. Hence the prediction of optimum fiber length and content becomes important, so that composite can be prepared with best mechanical properties. Experiments are carried out as per ASTM standards to find the mechanical properties namely, tensile strength and modulus,
