Compensation of fiber non linear impairments using Optical Back Propagation

2015 International Conference on Microwave, Optical and Communication Engineering (ICMOCE), 2015
The paper presents analysis of Kerr nonlinear impairments present in long haul Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) links and their compensation. A framework is proposed for transmission impairments compensation in optical domain by Optical Back Propagation (OBP) technique.

Non Linear Effects For Light Generation And Amplification In Optical Fibers.

SPIE Proceedings, 1990
We present a review of the main non-linear effects for light generation and amplification in optical fibers. Stimulated Raman Scattering and its applications to optical amplication, Four-Photon Mixing, Brillouin Scattering and Harmonic Generation are described. We emphasize the advantages and drawbacks of using optical fibers for the development of non-

Non-linear optical phenomena in contact fiber laser-photocoagulation of myocardium

Proceedings of the Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 1992
The rise time of epicardial temperatures on the left ventricular free wall during endocardial transcatbeter delivery of Nd:YAG laser energy, recorded by thermography has sparked interest in anomalous optical phenomena. Transmission measurements on whole blocks of myocardium showed a decrease in the attenuation coefficient at high power densities.

Analysis of high order dispersion and non linear effects in fiber optic transmission with Non Linear Schrodinger Equation model

2015 International Conference on Quality in Research (QiR), 2015
In a long-haul optical fiber transmission system which uses a high power input and a long distance transmission, disturbances can occur during the propagation process. These disturbances can be categorized into linear and non-linear effects which are affected by the intensity dependence of fiber optic refractive index n.

New Gaussian-based approximation for modelling non-linear effects in optical fibers

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1994
The use of Gaussian field approximations enables simple analytical models to be derived for non-linear fibers and doped-fiber lasers and amplifiers. A new Gaussian-based method is described that is as easy to use as the standard Gaussian approximations, yet provides an rms error in the confinement factor of only 1.1% for a wide range of matched ...

Impacts of Non-linear Effects in DWDM Based Fiber Optic Communication System

2019
Nowadays, a technology is developed and there is a large amount of bandwidth capacity is necessary to the requirement of users. In this paper, the FWM power is calculated by varying the parameters such as channel spacing, effective area, fiber length and input power. The FWM power is suppressed by using hybrid modulation technique.

Optical fiber mirror using cascaded second-order non-linearity [PDF]

open access: possible, 1995
In recent years there has been a revival of interest in frequency conversion based on second-order nonlinearities. This interest has been primarily due to progress in the periodic poling of crystals [1] and silica glasses [2]. These new technologies have permitted efficient quasi-phase matched frequency conversion in both bulk and waveguide geometries.

Methods of Laser, Non-Linear, and Fiber Optics in Studying Fundamental Problems of Astrophysics

Astrophysical Bulletin, 2018
Precise measurements of Doppler shifts of lines in stellar spectra allowing the radial velocity to be measured are an important field of astrophysical studies. A remarkable feature of the Doppler spectroscopy is the possibility to reliably measure quite small variations of the radial velocities (its acceleration, in fact) during long periods of time ...
