Using the formalism of mode overlap, a theoretical analysis of optically pumped fiber laser amplifiers and oscillators is developed. The concept of normalized overlap coefficients is introduced to account for the effects of the transverse structure of the interacting signal and pump modes on the device characteristics.

Efficient Femtosecond Mid-IR Optical Parametric Generation at 10 MHz Pumped by a Mamyshev Fiber Oscillator and Amplifier

We report highly efficient (~60%) femtosecond mid-IR optical parametric generation at 10-MHz repetition rate exploiting zero-group-velocity-mismatch condition in 19-mm-long PPLN and 42-mm-long MgO:PPLN crystals. We obtain 300-fs signal pulses with 3.4-4.1 μm idlertuning.

Fiber Optical Parametric Oscillator and Amplifier for CARS Spectroscopy

We demonstrated coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering spectroscopy based on fiber optical parametric oscillator and amplifier utilizing four wave mixing in photonic crystal fibers. The output powers and spectra of generated signals were analyzed in detail for various regimes involving spontaneous, stimulated, and amplified parametric processes.

All-Optical Regeneration for 40-Gb/s RZ-OOK Signals Based on Fiber Optical Parametric Oscillator and Amplifier

We demonstrate an all-optical wavelength-tunable regenerator for 40-Gb/s return-to-zero on-off-keying (RZ-OOK) signals using fiber optical parametric oscillator and amplifier. Regenerated signal with extinction ratio enhancement of 5 dB can be obtained.
