QTL Mapping for Fiber Quality Based on Introgression Lines Population from G. hirsutum × G. tomentosum

open access: yesAgriculture, 2023
As one of the most widely cultivated cotton species in China, upland cotton has moderate fiber quality and wide applicability, but its genetic basis is relatively narrow.

Design of Rice Straw Fiber Crusher and Evaluation of Fiber Quality

open access: yesAgriculture, 2022
In the comprehensive development and utilization of crop straw, it is key to separate the fibers in the straw through a certain process or equipment. In order to obtain rice straw fiber material, the straw fiber crusher was designed using SOLIDWORKS software, and its grinding process was simulated using EDEM software to verify the feasibility of the ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Response of Two Cotton Genotypes to Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers in Two Locations in Sulaymaniyah Province [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة الأنبار للعلوم الزراعية
Cotton plants have a broad range of uses in industry. However, various factors affect their quality leading to the employment of different approaches to achieve optimal production of the crop. In this study, the BM 455 and Golda genotypes were cultivated

Improved Upland Cotton Germplasm for Multiple Fiber Traits Mediated by Transferring and Pyramiding Novel Alleles From Ethyl Methanesulfonate-Generated Mutant Lines Into Elite Genotypes

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) mutagenesis offers important advantages for improving crops, such as cotton, with limited diversity in elite gene pools. EMS-induced point mutations are less frequently associated with deleterious traits than alleles from ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Equal K Amounts to N Achieved Optimal Biomass and Better Fiber Quality of Late Sown Cotton in Yangtze River Valley

open access: yesAgronomy, 2020
Potassium (K) fertilizer plays a crucial role in the formation of the biological and economic yield of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.). Here we investigated the effects of the amount of K on biomass accumulation and cotton fiber quality with lowered N ...
