New AI‐Assisted Approach for Expanding the Solution Space: Application to Lattice Structure Design
This work introduces an innovative framework for designing structured materials by ex panding the design space through reparameterization of qualitative variables into continuous structural descriptors. Combined with machine‐learning‐based prediction and multi‐objective optimization, the approach enables the discovery of novel lattice architectures ...

Studies on nature of anisotropy of tensile properties and fibre orientation in cross-laid needle-punched nonwoven fabrics [PDF]
An attempt has been made to study the fibre cross laying as well as fibre orientation angle in cross-laid needle-punched nonwoven fabric and its relationship with tensile properties of fabric.

CHARACTERISATION OF CARBON TAILORED FIBRE PLACEMENT REINFORCED COMPOSITES [PDF]
It is known that carbon reinforced composites are stronger at the orientation of the fibers. However, plain woven fabrics (PWF) are limited in terms of fibre orientation to 0º and 90º, except axial woven fabrics which could guide and orient fibres in ...

This article investigates the dependence of the properties on the manufacturing orientation in the form of the inclination angle to the build plate of LPBF‐fabricated NiTi rods with a diameter of 150–220 µm. Metallographic, chemical, thermal, and mechanical characterization show behavior under identical manufacturing conditions that ranges from ...

This study explores the discrepancies between bulk mechanics and spatial mapping in a tissue‐mimetic hydrogel model. Microplastic particles create localized stiff mechanical microenvironments that are detectable by cellular‐scale nanoindentation but leave bulk properties unchanged as measured by rheology.

Binder‐free laser powder bed fusion of 8YSZ with a femtosecond laser is used to map process windows linking scan strategy, heat accumulation, and grain growth. Time‐resolved thermography and simulations reveal thermal regimes that enable continuous, vitrified, and fine‐grained 8YSZ surface layers without absorptive additives and demonstrate ...

Preliminary study on the influence of fibre orientation in fibre reinforced mortars
The influence of steel fibres in fibre reinforced mortars is considered in the paper. Fresh mortar samples with randomly distributed fibres are placed in a spiral coil and exposed to electromagnetic filed so as to achieve orientation of fibres.
