Uterine fibroblast growth factor-2 and embryonic fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 at the beginning of gastrulation in the rabbit

Anatomy and Embryology, 1996
Fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF-2) induces gastrulation of rabbit blastocysts in vitro and is present in the uterine secretion at day 6 after mating. The following study was made in order to show if changes in the uterine FGF-2 concentration or in the FGF receptor concentration of the embryonic tissues point to a regulation of this event. By the use of

Transcriptional regulation of human fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 by E2F-1

Gene, 2009
Overexpression of fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs) has been observed in many types of human tumors; however, the regulatory mechanism of human FGFR expression is still largely unknown. In the present study, we first identified the transcriptional initiation site in the human FGFR 1 gene by 5'-RACE.

Epithelial Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1 Regulates Enamel Formation

Journal of Dental Research, 2008
The interaction between epithelial and mesenchymal tissues plays a critical role in the development of organs such as teeth, lungs, and hair. During tooth development, fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling is critical for regulating reciprocal epithelial and mesenchymal interactions.

Translocated in liposarcoma (TLS) is a substrate for fibroblast growth factor receptor-1

Cellular Signalling, 2004
Binding of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) to the high affinity receptor-1 (FGFR-1) leads to activation of its endogenous tyrosine kinase activity. A number of substrates for the FGFR-1 kinase have been identified. Among those, FGF receptor-substrate-2 (FRS-2) was identified by virtue of its interaction with p13suc, a yeast protein involved in cell ...

Fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 gene amplification in gastric adenocarcinoma

Human Pathology, 2015
Gastric adenocarcinomas are associated with a poor prognosis due to the fact that the tumor has often metastasized by the time of diagnosis. Thus, identification of novel therapeutic targets is highly desirable. Here, we examined gene copy number of fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1), a potential target for tyrosine kinase inhibitors, and ...

A Natural Kinase-Deficient Variant of Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1

Biochemistry, 1996
A fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 variant missing 37 amino acids from the carboxy-terminal tyrosine kinase catalytic domain was discovered in human lung fibroblasts and several other human cell lines. The receptor variant binds specifically to acidic fibroblast growth factor but has no tyrosine kinase activity.

Fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 is expressed by endothelial progenitor cells

Blood, 2002
Recent experiments show that hematopoietic progenitor cell populations contain endothelial precursor cells. We have isolated a population of CD34(+) cells that expresses fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 (FGFR-1) and that differentiates into endothelial cells in vitro. We find that 4.5% +/- 2.1% of CD34(+) cells isolated from bone marrow, cord blood,

Purification and Characterization of a Functional Soluble Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1994
Naturally encoded human soluble fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 was cloned, abundantly expressed by recombinant baculovirus-infected insect cells and purified to apparent homogeneity. Pure soluble receptor bound as monomeric and dimeric complexes and inhibited the mitogenic activity of basic and acidic fibroblast growth factors.

Fibroblast growth factor 21, fibroblast growth factor receptor 1, and β-Klotho expression in bovine growth hormone transgenic and growth hormone receptor knockout mice

Growth Hormone & IGF Research, 2016
Although growth hormone (GH) and fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) have a reported relationship, FGF21 and its receptor, fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) and cofactor β-Klotho (KLB), have not been analyzed in chronic states of altered GH action. The objective of this study was to quantify circulating FGF21 and tissue specific expression of

Fibroblast growth factor receptor‐1 interacts with the T‐cell receptor signalling pathway

Immunology & Cell Biology, 2003
Fibroblast growth factor receptors are expressed by some T cells, and provide costimulation for these cells. Such receptors allow T cells to respond to fibroblast growth factors expressed in response to injury and inflammation and may provide a mechanism for ‘context‐dependent’ responses to antigens within the local microenvironment.
