Motor deficits in fibroblast growth factor receptor-3 null mutant mice
Behavioural Pharmacology, 2001Fibroblast growth factor receptor-3 (FGFR-3) regulates aspects of bone development. Mutations in the FGFR-3 gene (Fgfr3) in humans and mice produce vertebral abnormalities and bone deformities. The present study evaluated the behavioural concomitants of the Fgfr3-/- mutation.

[Mutations of the fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 gene in achondroplasia].
Zhonghua yi xue yi chuan xue za zhi = Zhonghua yixue yichuanxue zazhi = Chinese journal of medical genetics, 1999To evaluate whether mutation in the exon 10 of the fibroblast growth factor receptor 3(FGFR3) gene in common in Chinese patients with achondroplasia.Genomic DNA from seven sporadic cases of achondroplasia was studied by using PCR-SSCP and restriction enzymes. All patients carried the same glycine-to-arginine mutation at codon 380(G380R) of the ...

Autosomal dominant disorders of skeletal and cranial development have been linked to fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) 2 and FGFR3. Here we report two identical mutations in FGFR2 that cause craniosynostosis syndromes, Crouzon, Apert, and Pfeiffer in gastric carcinoma.

Regulation of chondrocyte growth and differentiation by fibroblast growth factor receptor 3.
Novartis Foundation symposium, 2001Both gain-of-function and loss-of-function mutations in fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (Fgfr3) have revealed unique roles for this receptor during skeletal development. Loss-of-function alleles of Fgfr3 lead to an increase in the size of the hypertrophic zone, delayed closure of the growth plate and the subsequent overgrowth of long bones. Gain-of-
