AbstractFibrosarcomatous transformation represents a rare event in dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) with unpredictable biological behaviour. No guidelines for the adequate treatment of patients with this rare neoplasm have been published. Herein, we present a comprehensive review of the literature comprising 157 patients with transformed DFSP ...

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans with fibrosarcomatous transformation: a case report.
Ceskoslovenska patologie, 2020Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans is a quite rare local aggressive tumor of dermis and subcutis, revealing characteristic morphology and chromosomal translocation (17; 22)(q21;q13) with gene fusion COL1A1-PDGFB. The tumour almost never metastasizes and complete excision signs an excellent prognosis.

Background: Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans (DFSP) is a rare soft tissue sarcoma, accounting for approximately 1% of all tumors; however, DFSP of the breast is extremely rare. Moreover, DFSP generally has a low malignant potential and is characterized by a high rate of local recurrence along with a small but definite risk of metastasis.

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare and indolent cutaneous sarcoma, with the risk of aggressive fibro-sarcomatous transformation. Limited effective options are available for un-resectable or metastatic DFSP beyond targeting the oncogenic PDGF pathway with imatinib therapy.

AbstractDermatofibrosarcoma protuberans with fibrosarcomatous transformation (DFSP‐FS) is a higher grade tumor arising from dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP). Recent literature highlights its impact on recurrence rates, metastatic rates, and survival.

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a morphologically distinct dermal/subcutaneous fibrohystiocytic neoplasm seen mainly on the trunk and the proximal extremities, which generally is regarded as a low-grade or "borderline" neoplasm. Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans is characterized clinically by locally aggressive growth and a high rate of local ...

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a neoplasm of the dermis with a tendency for aggressive local growth and recurrence. A minority of DFSP cases may transform into higher-grade sarcoma (fibrosarcomatous transformation [FST]) (DFSP-FST), which is associated with more aggressive behavior and risk of metastasis. The histologic diagnosis of DFSP-FST

Fibrosarcomatous (FS) change in a rare, but well-known phenomenon encountered in dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP), and an increased chance in an adverse outcome has been suggested in patients with DFSP having FS areas (DFSP-FS). As altered p53 pathway has been suggested as having a potential role in tumour progression, we analysed the p53 gene ...

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a translocation‐associated, low‐grade sarcoma with fibroblastic differentiation. It is the most common superficial sarcoma, almost exclusively arising within the dermis. In a minority of cases, there is a transition from the conventional morphology to a fibrosarcomatous pattern, known as a fibrosarcomatous DFSP
