Epithelioid Fibrous Histiocytoma: A Concise Review.

American journal of dermatopathology, 2019
Epithelioid fibrous histiocytoma (EFH) is a rare lesion believed to arise from dermal microvascular unit fibroblasts and dendritic histiocytes. EFH has long been considered a morphologic variant of benign fibrous histiocytoma (dermatofibroma), with ...

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma

Clinical and Experimental Dermatology, 1984
Summary A 74-year-old man presented with a malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) on the lower leg. Wide local excision was performed and no recurrence has occurred to date. The pathological features which distinguish MFH from other sarcomas are now well denned and deserve wider recognition.

Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma

Southern Medical Journal, 1975
Two patients are presented who had malignant fibrous histiocytomas of the skin and soft tissue. These tumors characteristically consist of a solitary mass, 0.5 cm to 12.0 cm, which has skin fixation, is circumscribed and firm. Microscopically, there is a pattern of histiocytes and bizarre histiocytic giant cells intermingled in a fibrous stroma with ...

Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma

Annals of Plastic Surgery, 1996
This article reports a case of angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma (AFH), a rare fibrous tissue tumor with unique clinical characteristics. Formerly, this tumor was classified as angiomatoid malignant fibrous histiocytoma. First described in 1979, AFH was felt to be a variant of malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH).

Inflammatory fibrous histiocytoma

British Journal of Plastic Surgery, 1982
The name inflammatory fibrous histiocytoma (FH) is applied to a rare group of disorders which is not well known to surgeons but which may require surgical treatment. The name is misleading in that although there may be features of inflammation, the clinical progress, absence of causative organism and fatal outcome seem to place it within the sphere of ...

Endobronchial fibrous histiocytoma

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1995
Fibrous histiocytomas are uncommon pulmonary tumors. They generally involve only the lung parenchyma. Endobronchial involvement is extremely rare. Usually, surgical resection of the mass is required for definitive diagnosis and therapy. We report a case of benign atypical fibrous histiocytoma visualized during fiberoptic bronchoscopy and review the ...

Eyelid Fibrous Histiocytoma

Ophthalmology, 1981
Abstract A 62-year-old woman had a painless, asymptomatic, eyelid mass that progressively increased in size over a six-month period. Histologic study of the excisional biopsy specimen revealed a fibrous histiocytoma that contained areas of granuloma formation. A three-year follow-up has shown no recurrence of the tumor. The rarity of the lesion in the

Orbital fibrous histiocytomas

Orbit, 2000
Orbital fibrous histiocytomas can be difficult to diagnose and manage. These tumors, especially those with intermediate histologic features, often recur. Historically, non-invasive tests to differentiate scars from recurrent disease have a high error rate.

Retroperitoneal Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma

International Urology and Nephrology, 1999
Authors review the case history and follow-up of a rare malignant fibrous histiocytoma patient, based on the relevant literary data. The tumor filled the retroperitoneum on the right side, in front of the right kidney. Intravenous urography and computer tomography revealed a 10 x 15 cm sized mass, suspect of being a kidney tumor.
