MechaTag: A Mechanical Fiducial Marker and the Detection Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent & Robotic Systems, 2021
AbstractFiducial markers are fundamental components of many computer vision systems that help, through their unique features (e.g., shape, color), a fast localization of spatial objects in unstructured scenarios. They find applications in many scientific and industrial fields, such as augmented reality, human-robot interaction, and robot navigation. In

Cyberknife Radiosurgery for Prostate Cancer after Abdominoperineal Resection (CYRANO): The Combined Computer Tomography and Electromagnetic Navigation Guided Transperineal Fiducial Markers Implantation Technique

open access: yesCurrent Oncology, 2023
In this technical development report, we present the strategic placement of fiducial markers within the prostate under the guidance of computed tomography (CT) and electromagnetic navigation (EMN) for the delivery of ultra-hypofractionated cyberknife (CK)

Application of a Vision-Based Single Target on Robot Positioning System

open access: yesSensors, 2021
In this paper, we propose a Circular-ring visual location marker based on a global image-matching model to improve the positioning ability in the fiducial marker system of a single-target mobile robot.

Application of Ghost-DeblurGAN to Fiducial Marker Detection

open access: yes2022 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS), 2022
Feature extraction or localization based on the fiducial marker could fail due to motion blur in real-world robotic applications. To solve this problem, a lightweight generative adversarial network, named Ghost-DeblurGAN, for real-time motion deblurring is developed in this paper.

Long term safety and visibility of a novel liquid fiducial marker for use in image guided radiotherapy of non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesClinical and Translational Radiation Oncology, 2018
Safety and clinical feasibility of injecting a novel liquid fiducial marker for use in image guided radiotherapy in 15 patients with non-small cell lung cancer are reported. No major safety or toxicity issues were encountered. Markers present at start of

Tumor track seeding: A new complication of fiducial marker insertion

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2014
In the United States, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death. Candidates for tumor ablation using CyberKnife® require fiducial placement in or near the target tumor to achieve precision.

Multiple Projector Camera Calibration by Fiducial Marker Detection

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Projection mapping has been used for various purposes in everyday situations. A key step in projection mapping is to project images and videos without distortion through calibration, which is typically performed manually.

Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.
