Field programmable gate array (FPGA) circuits

open access: yes, 1996
Field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) are a recently developed family of programmable circuits. Like mask programmable gate arrays (MPGA), FPGAs implement thousands of logic gates. But, unlike MPGAs, a user can program an FPGA design as traditional programmable logic devices (PLDs): in-site and a in a few seconds.

Field-programmable gate arrays

Communications of the ACM, 1999
Field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) are a flexible alternative to custom integrated circuits. They can implement both combinatorial and sequential logic of tens of thousands of gates. Historically, software has been considered "flexible" with hardware its rigid counterpart in system design.

A Simple Approach of Space-vector Pulse Width Modulation Realization Based on Field Programmable Gate Array [PDF]

open access: yesElectric Power Components and Systems, 2010
Employing a field programmable gate array to realize space-vector pulse width modulation is a solution to boost system performance. Although there is much literature in the application of three-phase space-vector pulse width modulation based on field ...

Antifuse field programmable gate arrays

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1993
An antifuse is an electrically programmable two-terminal device with small area and low parasitic resistance and capacitance. Field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) using antifuses in a segmented channel routing architecture now offer the digital logic capabilities of an 8000-gate conventional gate array and system speeds of 40-60 MHz.

Fingerprinting Field Programmable Gate Arrays

2017 IEEE International Conference on Computer Design (ICCD), 2017
The semiconductor industry has adopted a horizontal business model wherein one company designs the Integrated Circuits (ICs), a second company fabricates them and a third one tests and packages them. Separating design from fabrication introduces vulnerabilities in the IC supply chain.

Architecture of field-programmable gate arrays

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1993
A survey of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) architectures and the programming technologies used to customize them is presented. Programming technologies are compared on the basis of their volatility, size parasitic capacitance, resistance, and process technology complexity.

Image processing on Field Programmable Gate Arrays

2015 23nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2015
At present, the relevancy to image processing is increasing and applications of image processing are developing. Also “Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA)” is gaining in popularity nowadays. FPGAs are strong in parallel computation and then can work too fast.

An architecture for a DSP field-programmable gate array

IEEE Transactions on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Systems, 1995
This paper describes an application specific architecture for field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). Emphasis is placed on the logic module architecture and channel segmentation for the FPGAs targeted for application areas related to digital signal processing (DSP).

Field-Programmable Gate Array

2021
Field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) are integrated circuits whose logic and their interconnections are configurable. These devices are field-programmable, that is, they can be configured by the hardware designer without any intervention of the manufacturer.
