Production, reception and processing of soybean seeds in 2017 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal on Processing and Energy in Agriculture, 2018
Compared to the 2016 growing season, in which the record soybean production was achieved owing to exceptional environmental conditions, the 2017 growing season cannot be considered favourable to soybean seed production.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Genetic resources of alternative crops [PDF]

open access: yesSelekcija i Semenarstvo, 2017
Alternative crops are known as plant species that occupy small and variable agricultural areas. The crops adapted to agro ecological conditions of Southeast Europe are with the developed technology of the production which means machinery commonly used ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Effect of organic and conventional farming system and sowing date on yield, seed oil and protein content in rapeseed cultivars [PDF]

open access: yesRatarstvo i Povrtarstvo, 2020
Rapeseed is one of the major oil crops, grown in various agroecological conditions. Interest in organic rapeseed is rising, with increasing importance to breeders to determine the need for specific organic breeding programs.

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

Double-Cropped Field Pea Crop Rotation Study

open access: yes, 2008
Farmers are continually searching for a third crop to complement the corn-soybean rotation. Field peas can be substituted for most of the soybean meal in swine rations and is more economical than soybean meal, so there is a large potential market for field peas in Iowa.

The first Serbian cultivar of winter pea for grain, NS-Mraz [PDF]

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Serbica, 2019
The first local cultivar of winter pea for grain, 'NS MRAZ', was developed by pedigree selection from the hybrid population created by crossing local populations and one French line of pea.
