Enhanced backscattering of electrons in a magnetic field

Physical Review B, 1990
We calculate the exact shape of the enhanced coherent backscattering peak for electrons in the presence of an external magnetic field. The interference phenomena that cause the backscattered enhancement are reduced due to the breaking of time-reversal symmetry. It is shown that the form of the peak in the presence of a magnetics field {ital I}({ital q},

Field‐enhanced scanning near‐field optical microscopy

Microscopy Research and Technique, 2006
AbstractThis manuscript reviews the principles and recent advances of scanning near‐field optical microscopy based on tip‐induced field enhancement. These scanning microscopes utilize minute probes to locally enhance an electromagnetic field through a complex interplay between surface plasmon excitation and localization of electric charges by ...

Optical field enhancement In tweezer trapping

2007 Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference, 2007
Near-resonant light can be used to enhance optical trapping of particles with wavelength dependent optical responses. We present results from our study of optically enhanced forces acting on dielectric and metal nanoparticles in tweezers trapping.

Resonant waveguide field enhancement in dimers

Optics Letters, 2006
It is shown that a waveguide mode, which exists between metal dimer particles and does not cut off, produces an enhanced electric field and hence a mechanism for surface-enhanced Raman scattering. Structures can thus be designed that provide large average field enhancement over significant length scales.

Field-Enhanced Phenomena of Gold Nanoparticles

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2009
We investigate the connections between two field-enhanced phenomena of gold nanoparticles: multiphoton-absorption-induced luminescence (MAIL) and metal-enhanced multiphoton absorption polymerization (MEMAP). We observe a strong correlation between the nanoparticles and aggregates that have high efficiency for each process.

Field Enhanced Lattice Scattering in Semiconductors

Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1962
At low lattice temperature (similar 4 °K) a relatively weak electric field is known to increase considerably the electronic energy in germanium (hot electrons). In the present paper it is shown that this in turn may appreciably alter the distribution of those phonons which principally interact with the hot electrons, although the total phonon energy is

Field-enhanced electronic transport in solids

Physical Review B, 1986
Electronic transport in the presence of trapping centers is considered by taking into account the local electric field contribution. A generalization of the previous models of field-assisted thermal ionization is proposed. The origin of the local electric field is discussed and a theoretical evaluation based on the electron-phonon interaction is given ...

Field enhancement in single subwavelength apertures

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2006
A peak of the detected fluorescence rate per molecule has recently been observed in experiments of fluorescence correlation spectroscopy carried out on subwavelength apertures in metallic screens, a phenomenon that appears at a diameter-to-wavelength ratio below the fundamental mode cutoff.

A sensitivity-enhanced electric field sensor with electrostatic field bias

2017 IEEE SENSORS, 2017
An electrostatic field biased cantilever electric field sensor with sensitivity improvement is proposed in this paper. Theoretically, the sensitivity of the sensor is proportional to the applied electrostatic field strength. A demonstrated sensor is developed, which consists of a Silicon cantilever coated with an Aluminum Nitride (AlN) piezoelectric ...
