Expert systems: a view of the field
IEEE Expert, 1996Reports of the decline of expert systems are greatly exaggerated. Survey results indicate impressive growth, as researchers develop systems to tackle difficult but commercially rewarding problems.

Driving experience and the functional field of view
Perception, 1999Research has suggested that novice drivers have different search strategies compared with their more experienced counterparts, and that this may contribute to their increased accident liability. One issue of concern is whether experienced drivers have a wider field of peripheral vision than less experienced drivers.

Reduced circular field‐of‐view imaging
Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 1998AbstractA rapid dynamic imaging technique based on polar k‐space sampling is presented. A gain in temporal resolution is achieved by angular undersampling. A detailed analysis of the point spread function of angular undersampled polar imaging reveals a reduced diameter of the corresponding circular field of view.

Conversation Limits the Functional Field of View
Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, 2004The purpose of these two experiments is to investigate one possible mechanism that might account for an increase in crash risk with in-car phone use: a reduction in the functional field of view. In two between-subjects experiments, college undergraduates performed a task designed to measure the functional field of view in isolation and while performing

A Historical View of the Stress Field
Journal of Human Stress, 1975An analysis is presented of selected aspects of stress theory and research in biology and medicine, both before and after the introduction of Selye's stress formulations, which have been of major importance in the development and popularity of this research area.

DUCTION, STEREOACUITY AND FIELD OF VIEW
Optometry and Vision Science, 1971There is a loss in duction as the field of view is progressively restricted while holding the light‐level constant. This is similar both to the loss in stereoacuity under the same conditions and to the loss in duction which occurs in the dark.
