Field Oriented Control of Synchronous Machines

IETE Journal of Research, 1991
Although field orientation in induction machines is only 20 years old, the corresponding concept in synchronous machines dates back almost 60 years to the days of the thyratron tube. After a brief historical review, the basic theory of synchronous machine field orientation is outlined.

Sensorless field oriented control using common mode currents

Conference Record of the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Fifth IAS Annual Meeting and World Conference on Industrial Applications of Electrical Energy (Cat. No.00CH37129), 2002
A simple sensorless field oriented control technique of an induction motor drive is presented, that estimates the angular frequency of the main flux from common mode currents. The proposed technique is effective at any load level and any speed, ranging from zero to rated value and beyond, in the flux weakening region.

Slip frequency detection for indirect field oriented control drives

Conference Record of the 2001 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. 36th IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.01CH37248), 2002
The paper presents a new technique to detect the slip angular frequency in induction motor drives based on indirect field oriented control. According to the proposed technique, the slip frequency is calculated by processing the effects exerted by an additional high frequency signal on the zero sequence stator voltage.

Field-Oriented Vector Control of Synchronous Motors With Additional Field Winding

IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2004
Summary form only given. This work presents a new method to control a synchronous motor in such a way to resemble the characteristics of a DC motor. The method suggests including a second field winding to the rotor of a voltage-source-inverter-fed synchronous motor.

Induction Motor Control using Modified Indirect Field Oriented Control

2018 8th IEEE India International Conference on Power Electronics (IICPE), 2018
This paper proposes the speed control of induction motor using modified indirect field oriented control (MIFOC). MIFOC scheme is based on the control of active and reactive power to regulate desired speed and torque of induction motor. The flux and torque estimation is not required in proposed scheme which reduces the complexity and ripples as compared

A neural network controller for indirect field orientation control

IAS '95. Conference Record of the 1995 IEEE Industry Applications Conference Thirtieth IAS Annual Meeting, 2002
This paper presents the design of a neural network controller for the stator current command in an indirect field oriented system. A particular three layer neural network structure is studied in some detail. This neural network controller has two outputs, stationary frame q and d axis current commands i/sub qs//sup s/ and i/sub ds//sup s/. The input to

Fuzzy supervisory control of field oriented controlled AC drives

Proceedings of the 2002 American Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.CH37301), 2002
The problem of setting an optimum flux reference for indirect vector controlled induction motors is addressed. The flux reference is generated using a fuzzy logic supervisor (FLS) which minimizes the power input to the motor in steady-state speed operations. The FLS is based on a simple search method.

Optimal Control Simulation of Field-Free Molecular Orientation: Alignment-Enhanced Molecular Orientation

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2012
Nonresonant optimal control simulation is applied to a CO molecule to design two-color phase-locked laser pulses (800 nm + 400 nm) with the aim of orienting the molecule under the field-free condition. The optimal pulse consists of two subpulses: the first subpulse aligns the molecule and the second one orients it.

Variable speed field-oriented controlled induction generator

Conference Record of 1998 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Third IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.98CH36242), 2002
In this work, a new induction generator system (IG), to work with variable speed and load, is proposed. The objective is to make it work as a stand alone (not grid connected) generator to produce constant voltage and variable frequency AC current. The IG is based on a three-phase induction machine (IM) exited, simultaneously, by a capacitor bank and a ...
