Luminous Intensity Field Optimization for Antiglare LED Desk Lamp without Second Optical Element

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This study proposes a model of a light module with an optimized luminous intensity field for realizing an antiglare light-emitting diode (LED) desk lamp without a second optical element. We simulated different luminous intensity field profiles to analyze

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.

Suppressing Non-Uniform Tunneling in InAs/GaSb TFET With Dual-Metal Gate

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2016
Non-uniformity in electric field causes early onset of tunneling near the edge of InAs/GaSb hetero-junction tunneling field-effect transistors. When a small area, often an edge, of the tunneling junction has a lower turn-on voltage, the steep switching ...

LORENTZ VIOLATION IN A UNIFORM GRAVITATIONAL FIELD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present a method to calculate the nonrelativistic hamiltonian for the minimal Standard-Model Extension matter sector in a uniform gravitational field. The resulting hamiltonian coincides with earlier results in the corresponding limits but it also includes spin-dependent terms that were previously unknown.

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Evaluation of Seed Emergence Uniformity of Mechanically Sown Wheat with UAV RGB Imagery

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2017
The uniformity of wheat seed emergence is an important characteristic used to evaluate cultivars, cultivation mode and field management. Currently, researchers typically investigated the uniformity of seed emergence by manual measurement, a time ...

High‐Resolution MRI Revealed Different Etiology‐Specific Associations With Cerebral Infarction in Adult Moyamoya Vasculopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐resolution MRI enables detailed assessment of intracranial vessel wall pathology in moyamoya vasculopathy. We aimed to classify adult moyamoya vasculopathy etiologies using high‐resolution MRI and to examine subtype‐specific associations between high‐resolution MRI features and ischemic infarction.

Non-uniformity calibration for MWIR polarization imagery obtained with integrated microgrid polarimeters

open access: yes, 2016
Integrating microgrid polarimeters on focal plane array (FPA) of an infrared detector causes non-uniformity of polarization response. In order to reduce the effect of polarization non-uniformity, this paper constructs an experimental setup for capturing ...
