Functional exploration of co-expression networks identifies a nexus for modulating protein and citric acid titres in Aspergillus niger submerged culture

open access: yesFungal Biology and Biotechnology, 2019
Background Filamentous fungal cell factories are used to produce numerous proteins, enzymes, and organic acids. Protein secretion and filamentous growth are tightly coupled at the hyphal tip.

Multimodal Optoelectronic Synapses for Neuromorphic Intelligence: Coupling Light, Electrical, Thermal, and Beyond

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review revisits optoelectronic neuromorphic devices that extend from unimodal sensing toward multimodal perception. Five types of stimuli‐to‐output information flow that are classified based on the device roles within the system and applications are summarized and discussed.

Acivicin Induce Filamentous Growth ofSaccharomyces cerevisiae

open access: yesBioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 2003
The antibiotic acivicin is a known inhibitor of gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (gammaGTP). We found that acivicin can induce filamentous growth in both diploid and haploid cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. This phenomenon is not related to the inhibition of gammaGTP or interference in glutathione metabolism.

Bioinspired Co‐Assembly Enables Multiscale Architected Hydrogels for 3D Printing With Integrated Antibacterial and Bioactive Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multicomponent supramolecular hydrogel integrating cell‐adhesive and antibacterial peptides within an alginate‐cellulose nanofibril matrix is developed. Peptide co‐assembly simultaneously strengthens the hydrogel network, improves extrusion printability, and imparts cell‐adhesive and antibacterial functions, offering a versatile platform for ...

Regulation of Ustilago maydis Dimorphism, Sporulation, and Pathogenic Development by a Transcription Factor with a Highly Conserved APSES Domain

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2010
In Ustilago maydis, the causal agent of corn smut, the morphological transition from yeast to filamentous growth is inextricably linked to pathogenicity; budding haploid cells are saprobic and, upon mating of compatible strains, the fungus converts to ...

Memristive‐Gated RC‐Delay Synaptic Transistors for Time‐Encoded Analog in‐Memory Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Memristive‐Gated Transistor for Time‐Encoded Analog In‐Memory Computing — By exploiting the RC delay of a self‐rectifying interface‐type memristor, nonlinear I–V distortion is structurally bypassed, enabling 3‐bit nonvolatile memory, spike‐timing‐based analog encoding, and hardware‐calibrated reservoir‐computing validation within a unified device ...
