Sensitometric comparisons of Insight and Ektaspeed Plus films: effects of chemical developer depletion [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Dental Journal, 2006
The aim of this study was to compare the sensitometric properties of Insight and Ektaspeed Plus radiographic films manually and automatically processed using fresh and depleted chemical solutions. Ten sets of each type of film were obtained (1 set = 5 films), 5 sets being manually processed and 5 sets being automatically processed. A total of 100 films

Objective and subjective assessments of Kodak Ektaspeed plus new dental X-ray film: a comparison with other conventional X-ray films.

open access: yesThe Bulletin of Tokyo Dental College, 1996
A new dental X-ray film called EKTASPEED Plus has been released by the Eastman Kodak Company. Its sensitometric properties, inclusive of modulation transfer function (MTF) and Wiener spectrum (WS) and the visibility of radiographic details, were compared with those of other conventional dental X-ray films, EKTASPEED EP-22 (Eastman Kodak Co.) and Ultra ...

Effects of developer exhaustion on Kodak EKTASPEED Plus, Ektaspeed, and ultra-speed dental films

Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Oral Radiology and Endodontics, 1995
In 1994, Eastman Kodak Co. (Rochester, N.Y.) replaced its Ektaspeed film with the EKTASPEED Plus film. The manufacturer claims that one of the advantages of the new film is that it is not strongly affected by exhausted (depleted plus aged) processing solutions. The objective of the experiment was to test this claim.

Densitometric comparisons of Ultra-speed, Ektaspeed, and Ektaspeed Plus intraoral films for two processing conditions

Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Oral Radiology and Endodontics, 1995
This study compared film speed, contrast, exposure latitude, and resolution of Ultra-speed, Ektaspeed, and Ektaspeed Plus films (Eastman Kodak Co., Rochester, N.Y.). Densitometric curves were generated for each film type under processing conditions of fresh and used chemistry to observe their effect on factors associated with diagnostic quality ...

A laboratory evaluation of Ektaspeed Plus dental X-ray film

Journal of Dentistry, 1995
The aim of this study was to make a laboratory evaluation of the image quality of a new dental X-ray film, Ektaspeed Plus, compared with Ektaspeed and Ultraspeed films.Films of each emulsion type underwent a range of exposures at both 50 kVp and 70 kVp, and characteristic curves were constructed to give a comparison of fog, speed and contrast.

Objective and subjective evaluations of Kodak Ektaspeed Plus dental x-ray film

Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Oral Radiology and Endodontics, 1995
A new dental x-ray film, Kodak Ektaspeed Plus (Eastman Kodak Co., Rochester, N.Y.), was compared with Kodak Ektaspeed and Ultraspeed films. The comparison was based on objective measures (film contrast, speed, and fog levels) and subjective appraisals (film graininess and appearance).

Sensitometric comparison of Kodak EKTASPEED Plus, Ektaspeed, and Ultra-speed Dental Films

Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Oral Radiology and Endodontics, 1995
In 1994, Eastman Kodak Co. (Rochester, N.Y.) marketed EKTASPEED Plus dental film to combine the advantages of the contrast of Ultra-speed film and the speed of Ektaspeed film. EKTASPEED Plus film uses T-Grain Emulsion technology similar to that used in the manufacture of the light-sensitive indirect exposure Kodak T-Mat film.
