Superlinear Convergence and Implicit Filtering [PDF]
Summary: We show how the implicit filtering algorithm can be coupled with the BFGS quasi-Newton update to obtain a superlinearly convergent iteration if the noise in the objective function decays sufficiently rapidly as the optimal point is approached.

L-filters and L-filter convergence [PDF]
In this paper, we study the relations between L-fuzzy topologies and L-filters on a strictly two-sided, commutative quantale lattice L. We define an L-fuzzy neighborhood filter and introduce the notion of L-filter convergence in L-fuzzy topological spaces.

Rational Spectral Filters with Optimal Convergence Rate [PDF]
In recent years, contour-based eigensolvers have emerged as a standard approach for the solution of large and sparse eigenvalue problems. Building upon recent performance improvements through non-linear least square optimization of so-called rational filters, we introduce a systematic method to design these filters by minimizing the worst-case ...

Abstract We are inspired by the work of Henri Cartan [16], Bourbaki [10] (TG. I Filtres) and Claude Wagschal [34]. We define the base of filter, image filter, convergent filter bases, limit filter and the filter base of tails (fr: filtre des sections).

In this paper, we have introduced the idea of I-convergence of filters and studied its various properties. We have proved the necessary and sufficient condition for a filter to be I-convergent.

Multi-convex combined filter based on maximum correntropy criterion
Correntropy based algorithms are widely used in non-Gaussian signal processing, but they also suffer from the conflict between the step size and the misadjustment.

Digital IIR filters design using differential evolution algorithm with a controllable probabilistic population size. [PDF]
Design of a digital infinite-impulse-response (IIR) filter is the process of synthesizing and implementing a recursive filter network so that a set of prescribed excitations results a set of desired responses. However, the error surface of IIR filters is

Deterministic Mean-field Ensemble Kalman Filtering [PDF]
The proof of convergence of the standard ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF) from Legland etal. (2011) is extended to non-Gaussian state space models. A density-based deterministic approximation of the mean-field limit EnKF (DMFEnKF) is proposed, consisting of

Local T_3 Constant Filter Convergence Spaces
In this paper, we characterize each of local T_3(resp. T_3', ST _3, ST_3') constant filter convergence spaces and investigate the relationships among these various forms. We show that the full subcategories T_3 ConFCO and ST_3 ConFCO (resp. T_3'ConFCO and ST_3'ConFCO) of ConFCO are isomorphic categories.
