From Antenna to Filter or from Filter to Antenna

2018 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT), 2018
This paper presents the two filtering antennas. One (type-A) is to design an antenna, which simultaneously realizes the filtering performance. The other one (type-B) is from a filter to design an antenna. The type-A filtering antenna obtained a high selectivity by etching slots on a single patch. The radiation nulls can be controlled individually.

Banwidth Reconfigurable Filtering Antenna

Wireless Personal Communications, 2019
A microstrip bandwidth reconfigurable filtering antenna is implemented by simply tuning the transmission zeroes. The proposed filtering antenna is developed by integrating the filter characteristics into the 50 Ω microstrip feed line of the antenna through two independent coupled resonators.

A balanced filtering antenna

2015 IEEE 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP), 2015
A balanced filtering antenna is proposed in this paper. It is composed of a wideband dipole antenna, a reflecting ground and a filter. The filter is utilized to replace the transmission line between two arms and the reflecting ground of the dipole antenna.

A Review on Filter-Antennas

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015
A review on the recent advancements made on filtennas are presented in this paper. RF fronts ends continue to generate a lot of research attention in communication systems due to the effect it has on the overall bit error rate and SNR. Issues such as compactness, interference and noise are addressed by embedding the bandpass filter into the antenna to ...

The Filtering Performance of a Kind Antenna Model

2009 International Forum on Information Technology and Applications, 2009
This paper investigates the filtering performance of a new kind of compact antenna model, the cube antenna model. At first, the explicit expression for the signal to interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) is obtained in terms of the parameters of the signal, interference, and noise.

An antenna-filter codesign for cardiac implants

2011 Design, Automation & Test in Europe, 2011
This paper presents the design of a 2.4 GHz antenna and a BAW filter for cardiac implants in the ISM band. These components are both sensitive to their environment. The antenna modelisation in human body is presented in order to characterize its impedance.

An integrated filtering antenna of terahertz antenna-in-package

IET International Radar Conference 2013, 2013
An integrated THz filtering antenna of AIP (antenna in package) is proposed. As the indispensable parts of THz AIP, antenna and filter are designed together and fabricated by MEMS (Micro-electromechanical System) technology on silicon substrate. A MEMS H-plane horn antenna from 400GHz to 500GHz is designed as AIP antenna element, and a well designed E ...

Horn Antennas With Integrated Notch Filters

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2015
In this communication, we present the design of filtering horn antennas with band-stop characteristics obtained through the use of electrically small magnetic resonators. In particular, a split-ring resonator (SRR) etched on a Rogers Duroid RT5870 dielectric substrate is inserted within the metallic flare of the horn at a proper distance from the ...

Kalman filter for adaptive antennas

Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences, 1998
Adaptive control algorithm is a key technique for an adaptive array. It is necessary to find a fast and efficient algorithm for gaining rapid interference suppression. Convergence speed of conventional gradient-based algorithms is extremely slow and very sensitive to eigenvalue spread of autocorrelation matrix.

Filtering Antennas and Filter-Valve Circuits

Proceedings of the IRE, 1929
Some methods of coupling together many circuits or antennas giving them simultaneous excitation from the same source of energy are described. The purpose of such arrangements is the construction of practical filter circuits (filtering antennas) giving square-topped resonance curves with good efficiency.
