From Antenna to Filter or from Filter to Antenna

2018 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT), 2018
This paper presents the two filtering antennas. One (type-A) is to design an antenna, which simultaneously realizes the filtering performance. The other one (type-B) is from a filter to design an antenna. The type-A filtering antenna obtained a high selectivity by etching slots on a single patch. The radiation nulls can be controlled individually.

Magnetless nonreciprocal filtering diplexing antenna

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2021
AbstractThis paper presents a magnetless nonreciprocal diplexing antenna that uses time modulation. The device combines the functions of diplexers, filters, isolators, and antennas in a highly integrated manner. The magnetless nonreciprocity response is achieved by applying time modulation to the resonators of the filtering structures. These resonators

A balanced filtering antenna

2015 IEEE 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP), 2015
A balanced filtering antenna is proposed in this paper. It is composed of a wideband dipole antenna, a reflecting ground and a filter. The filter is utilized to replace the transmission line between two arms and the reflecting ground of the dipole antenna.

Banwidth Reconfigurable Filtering Antenna

Wireless Personal Communications, 2019
A microstrip bandwidth reconfigurable filtering antenna is implemented by simply tuning the transmission zeroes. The proposed filtering antenna is developed by integrating the filter characteristics into the 50 Ω microstrip feed line of the antenna through two independent coupled resonators.

UWB filter-antenna using Spiral Resonator

2010 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference, 2010
This paper presents simple and low cost implementations of very wideband antennas using Spiral Resonator (SR) to perform band-rejection filtering within the band. Details on SR design are first given and filter design is then applied on a UWB antenna to filter the WLAN band.

Self-filtering low-noise horn antenna

Proceedings of the 2012 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation, 2012
In this contribution, we propose an innovative horn antenna design capable to filter undesired noise out. The radiator is based on a regular WR-62 horn, having a metallic screen inserted between the feeding waveguide and the flared aperture. We have drilled a vertical rectangular slit on the screen (the long side of the slit is in the E-plane) and ...

Horn Antennas With Integrated Notch Filters

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2015
In this communication, we present the design of filtering horn antennas with band-stop characteristics obtained through the use of electrically small magnetic resonators. In particular, a split-ring resonator (SRR) etched on a Rogers Duroid RT5870 dielectric substrate is inserted within the metallic flare of the horn at a proper distance from the ...

Multilayer Antenna-Filter Antenna for Beam-Steering Transmit-Array Applications

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2012
This paper presents a study on reconfigurable transmit-array (TA) antennas based on multilayer tunable elements. The proposed configuration can be referred to as a multilayer antenna-filter antenna (MAFA) and it can be viewed as an extension of the antenna-filter antenna concept.

Kalman filter for adaptive antennas

Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences, 1998
Adaptive control algorithm is a key technique for an adaptive array. It is necessary to find a fast and efficient algorithm for gaining rapid interference suppression. Convergence speed of conventional gradient-based algorithms is extremely slow and very sensitive to eigenvalue spread of autocorrelation matrix.

Filtering Antennas and Filter-Valve Circuits

Proceedings of the IRE, 1929
Some methods of coupling together many circuits or antennas giving them simultaneous excitation from the same source of energy are described. The purpose of such arrangements is the construction of practical filter circuits (filtering antennas) giving square-topped resonance curves with good efficiency.
