Facile synthesis of ordered mesoporous carbon with finger citron residue as carbon precursor

Materials Letters, 2016
Abstract By filling the pores of siliceous SBA-15 hard template with finger citron residues as carbon precursors, then carbonization and silica dissolution, a new type of highly ordered mesoporous carbon has been synthesized for the first time.

Effect of different drying methods on chemical composition and bioactivity of finger citron polysaccharides

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2015
Traditionally, people like to take dried finger citron fruits (FC) as adjuvant herbal medicines to treat a diversity of chronic diseases like asthma, hypertension and respiratory tract infections. Many healing properties are attributed to FC polysaccharides (FCPs), one of the main active ingredients of FC. Three drying methods, freeze drying (FDM), hot

Effects of different extraction methods on structural and physicochemical properties of pectins from finger citron pomace

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2021
The functionality and property of pectin are correlated with its structure which is affected by the extraction method used. In this study, three different methods of extracting pectin, the microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), the ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) and the conventional heating extraction (CHE), were used at three different ...

Formaldehyde Capture with Finger-Citron-Residue-Based Activated Carbon

Separation Science and Technology, 2015
Finger-citron-residue-based activated carbon (FAC) was tested as a new type of adsorbents for formaldehyde adsorption. The formaldehyde adsorption performance of the FAC compared with the other three types of commercially available activated carbons was evaluated. The equilibrium data are better described by the Langmuir model.

Water-soluble polysaccharides from finger citron fruits (Citrus medica L. var. sarcodactylis)

Carbohydrate Research, 2014
Four water-soluble polysaccharides, FCp-1, FCp-2, FCp-3, and FCp-4 were obtained from finger citron fruits (Citrus medica L. var. sarcodactylis) by hot-water extraction and ethanol precipitation, followed by routine separation procedure. Based on the calibration curve, molecular weights of them were estimated to be 113.9, 32.6, 140.3, and 177.1 kDa ...
