Formaldehyde Capture with Finger-Citron-Residue-Based Activated Carbon

Separation Science and Technology, 2015
Finger-citron-residue-based activated carbon (FAC) was tested as a new type of adsorbents for formaldehyde adsorption. The formaldehyde adsorption performance of the FAC compared with the other three types of commercially available activated carbons was evaluated. The equilibrium data are better described by the Langmuir model.

Water-soluble polysaccharides from finger citron fruits (Citrus medica L. var. sarcodactylis)

Carbohydrate Research, 2014
Four water-soluble polysaccharides, FCp-1, FCp-2, FCp-3, and FCp-4 were obtained from finger citron fruits (Citrus medica L. var. sarcodactylis) by hot-water extraction and ethanol precipitation, followed by routine separation procedure. Based on the calibration curve, molecular weights of them were estimated to be 113.9, 32.6, 140.3, and 177.1 kDa ...

Low transcription of CmsIAA9 in the basal pistil is related to parthenocarpic fruiting of fingered citron (Foshou)

Molecular Breeding, 2017
Seedlessness is a commercial trait that provides a good model for uncovering fruiting mechanisms. Fingered citron (Citrus medica L. var. sarcodactylis Swingle, Foshou), a variant of Citrus medica L. (Xiangyuan), is a traditional ornamental tree in China with a finger-like fruit that is seedless.

Microencapsulation of fingered citron extract with gum arabic, modified starch, whey protein, and maltodextrin using spray drying

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2020
The aim of this study was to investigate the characteristics of the Fingered citron extract (FCE) microcapsules powders with different formulations of the encapsulation carrier agents [gum arabic (GA), maltodextrin (MD), modified starch (MS), and whey protein (WP)], which are obtained through spray drying. Encapsulation yield, encapsulation efficiency,

Extraction optimization, preliminary characterization, and in vitro antioxidant activities of crude polysaccharides from finger citron

Industrial Crops and Products, 2013
Abstract Finger citron (Citrus medica L. var. sarcodactylis) (FC) fruits, widely cultivated in the southern provinces of China, have been long used as traditional Chinese medicinal material. Response surface methodology was used to optimize the extraction conditions of crude polysaccharides (FCPs) from FC fruits with a central composite design. Three

RAPID DIAGNOSIS OF NUTRIENT ELEMENTS IN FINGERED CITRON LEAF USING NEAR INFRARED REFLECTANCE SPECTROSCOPY

Journal of Plant Nutrition, 2012
In order to provide references for leaf nutrition diagnosis of fingered citron, the technique of near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) was introduced to analyze nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn), and copper (Cu) in the dry-leaf samples of fingered citron.

Effects of high temperature on photosynthesis, chlorophyll fluorescence, chloroplast ultrastructure, and antioxidant activities in fingered citron

Russian Journal of Plant Physiology, 2012
Effects of heat stress on the photosynthesis system and antioxidant activities in Fingered citron (Citrus medica var. sarcodactylis Swingle) were investigated. Two-year-old Fingered citron plants were exposed to different temperature (28, 35, 40, and 45°C) for 6 h; then the photosynthetic capacity, chlorophyll fluorescence, chloroplast ultrastructure ...

Insulin Secretagogue Bioactivity of Finger Citron Fruit (Citrus medicaL. var.SarcodactylisHort, Rutaceae)

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2009
Finger citron [Citrus medica L. var. Sarcodactylis Hort, Rutaceae] (FC) fruits, widely cultivated in Japan, the southern provinces of China and Taiwan, are commonly used as functional vegetables and preserved as sweetmeats. Previously we identified the major compounds in essential oils (% in EO) of FC fruits to be d-limonene (51.24), gamma-terpenene ...
