Browser Fingerprinting [PDF]

open access: yesACM Transactions on the Web, 2020
With this article, we survey the research performed in the domain of browser fingerprinting, while providing an accessible entry point to newcomers in the field. We explain how this technique works and where it stems from. We analyze the related work in detail to understand the composition of modern fingerprints and see how this technique is currently ...

Fingerprints from fingerprints

International Congress Series, 2003
Besides ‘‘classical’’ biological materials such as blood and sperm, epithelial cells from latent fingerprints are targeted in forensic sciences. In addition to studies using latent fingerprints applied to beer glasses [1], T-shirts left on crime scenes [2] and various other objects [3], we report the detection of STR profiles from latent fingerprints ...

On the individuality fingerprints

Proceedings of the 2001 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition. CVPR 2001, 2002
Fingerprint identification is based on two basic premises: (i) persistence: the basic characteristics of fingerprints do not change with time; and (ii) individuality: the fingerprint is unique to an individual. The validity of the first premise has been established.

Fingerprint Comparison. I: Similarity of Fingerprints

Journal of Forensic Sciences, 1982
Abstract Fingerprints from 61 pairs of male monozygotic twins (MZ), 47 pairs of female MZ, 40 pairs of same-sex male dizygotic twins (DZ), 44 pairs of same-sex female DZ, 4 pairs of opposite-sex DZ, and 28 brothers and 31 sisters of those twins are used for the study of fingerprint similarities. Similarities of fingerprint pattern, ridge

The fingerprinted database

[1990] Proceedings. Sixth International Conference on Data Engineering, 2002
A fingerprinting database management system presents a unique version or view of the data to each user. The view contains small pseudorandom modifications to selected data items. The objective of this system is to identify users who divulge proprietary information which they have obtained through legitimate access.

On fingerprint theorems

[1988 Proceedings] 9th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2003
Fingerprint theorems, i.e. under what conditions the primal sketch can determine the image uniquely, are discussed. The weakness of A.L. Yuille and T. Poggio's fingerprint theorem (1986) is pointed out and two novel 1-D fingerprint theorems are presented.
