On Mixing Fingerprints

IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, 2013
This work explores the possibility of mixing two different fingerprints, pertaining to two different fingers, at the image level in order to generate a new fingerprint. To mix two fingerprints, each fingerprint pattern is decomposed into two different components, viz., the continuous and spiral components.

Fingerprints in Schizophrenia

JAMA, 1962
Report is made of a study of fingerprints on a series of schizophrenics. This series was comprised of 100 males, rigidly screened as to diagnosis and possible complicating conditions and factors. Certain special trends in fingerprint patterns were noted.

Fingerprinting with Wow

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
Wow, or time warping caused by speed fluctuations in analog audio equipment, provides a wealth of applications in watermarking. Very subtle temporal distortion has been used to defeat watermarks, and as components in watermarking systems. In the image domain, the analogous warping of an image's canvas has been used both to defeat watermarks and also ...

Fingerprint Matching

Computer, 2010
Fingerprint matching has been successfully used by law enforcement for more than a century. The technology is now finding many other applications such as identity management and access control. The authors describe an automated fingerprint recognition system and identify key challenges and research opportunities in the field.

Probing With and Into Fingerprints

Journal of Neurophysiology, 2010
A recent report by Scheibert et al. highlights the role of fingerprints in enhancing tactile sensitivity. By scanning a surface with a biometric force sensor they demonstrate the dominance of the frequencies that fall within the optimal sensitivity range of Pacinian afferents.

Fingerprinting Curves

2005
This paper presents a new method for robust data hiding in curves and highlights potential applications including digital fingerprinting of map document for trace and track purposes. We parameterize a curve using the B-spline model and add a spread spectrum sequence to the coordinates of the B-spline control points.

Fingerprinting Tor

Information Management & Computer Security, 2013
PurposeIt is increasingly difficult to ignore the importance of anonymity on the internet. Tor has been proposed as a reliable way to keep our identity secret from governments and organizations. This research evaluates its ability to protect our activity on the Web.Design/methodology/approachUsing traffic analysis over ACK packets among others ...
