Finite time convergent observers for nonlinear systems

42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37475), 2004
In this note we consider the state estimation problem for nonlinear systems. In a first step we outline the design of an observer for single output nonlinear systems in observer normal form. The estimate of this observer converges to the exact system state within predefined finite time.

Design of Finite-Time Convergent Functional Observers

2019 8th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC), 2019
In this paper a finite-time convergence fault estimator based on functional observers is presented. The stability conditions of the observer are given and their performance evaluation is made through numerical simulations.

Robust Missile Autopilots With Finite‐Time Convergence

Asian Journal of Control, 2015
AbstractThis paper presents a new longitudinal autopilot to address the finite‐time tracking problem for uncertain agile missiles. The proposed autopilot is essentially a composite control scheme, which is obtained through the finite‐time control methodology and the nonlinear disturbance observer (NDOB) approach. The key idea in this scheme is that the

A continuous-time observer which converges in finite time

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2002
It is shown that a continuous-time observer, which comprises two standard nth order observers and a delay D, can observe the state of an nth order linear system in finite time D exactly. In particular, (almost) any convergence time D can be assigned, independent of the observer eigenvalues.

Finite-time convergence results in Model Predictive Control

2018 European Control Conference (ECC), 2018
Asymptotic stability (convergence and $\epsilon-\delta$ stability) of invariant sets under model predictive control (MPC) strategies have been extensively studied in the last decades. Lyapunov theory is in some sense the common denominator of the different forms to achieve such results.

Neural sliding mode control with finite time convergence

2009 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks, 2009
Combination of neural networks and sliding mode control (SMC) can reduce chattering, because the upper bound of uncertainties becomes smaller when neural networks are used to model unknwn nolinear systems. The tracking error of normal neural sliding mode control is asymptotically stable, while neural control and SMC are applied at same time.

Attitude stabilization of rigid spacecraft with finite‐time convergence

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2011
AbstractThe problem of attitude control for a spacecraft model which is nonlinear in dynamics with inertia uncertainty and external disturbance is investigated in this paper. Two sliding mode controllers are proposed to force the state variables of the closed‐loop system to converge to the origin in finite time.

Finite-time convergence of acyclic generically persistent formations

2018 Annual American Control Conference (ACC), 2018
In this paper, we study the distance-based formation control problem of multi-agent system whose interaction graph is acyclic generically persistent in the plane. We design a distributed control law, in which each agent is required to measure only relative positions of its neighbours with respect to its own coordinate system.
