This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

Intelligent Bus Platoon Lateral and Longitudinal Control Method Based on Finite-Time Sliding Mode
Considering the rapid convergence of the longitudinal and lateral tracking errors of the platoon, a finite-time tracking control method for the longitudinal and lateral directions of the intelligent bus platoon is proposed. Based on the bus platoon model

Parameters Adaptive Finte-time Consensus Algorithm for Second-order Multi-agent Systems [PDF]
The method of determining adaptive parameters is not clearly given in existing second-order multi-agent systems, and the convergence speed of systems is low.To predict the state of a multi-agent system for aircraft at the next moment in practical ...

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Adaptive Robust Control Design to Maximize the Harvested Power in a Wind Turbine with Input Constraint [PDF]
This paper deals with the problem of maximizing the extracted power from a wind turbine in the presence of model uncertainties and input saturation. An adaptive second-order integral terminal sliding mode speed control method is utilized to address this ...

This plot compares experimental tensile stress–strain curves (with 4 different strain rates) and corresponding modelled curves (obtained using the optimised sets of Voce and Miller–Norton parameter values shown). The inferred M‐N values, characterizing the creep, are very similar to those obtained via conventional creep testing.
