The interplay between magnetic ordering and crystal electric field (CEF) excitations plays a pivotal role in defining the low‐energy electrodynamics of quantum materials. By probing the temperature‐dependent THz conductivity in a rare‐earth‐based metallic ferromagnet, we uncover a microscopic connection between localized and itinerant electrons ...

A model updating technique based on FRFs for damped structures [PDF]
Model updating methods often neglect that in fact all physical structures are damped. Such simplification relies on the structural modelling approach, although it compromises the accuracy of the predictions of the structural dynamic behaviour.

Towards Closed World Reasoning in Dynamic Open Worlds (Extended Version)
The need for integration of ontologies with nonmonotonic rules has been gaining importance in a number of areas, such as the Semantic Web. A number of researchers addressed this problem by proposing a unified semantics for hybrid knowledge bases composed

Updating of a Nonlinear Finite Element Model Using Discrete-Time Volterra Series
In this study, the discrete-time Volterra series are used to update parameters in a nonlinear finite element model. The main idea of the Volterra series is to describe the discrete-time output of a nonlinear system using multidimensional convolutions ...

Polarization‐Dependent 3D Holography Generated by Inverse Design Nanoprinting Metasurface
A novel polarization‐dependent 3D holography is proposed by introducing polarization as an additional freedom, enabling enhanced depth selectivity and greater control over holographic reconstruction. The efforts perfectly combine the polarization and 3D holography display into ADAM gradient descent algorithm, the application of nanoprinting further ...

Low‐frequency noise fingerprints in hafnia ferroelectrics provide a quantitative handle to resolve the long‐standing debate between polarization‐mediated and defect‐mediated switching. By tuning oxygen vacancy density via ALD O3 dose time and applying a physically constrained deconvolution, we extract bias‐resolved current fractions for both mechanisms

Finite Element Model Updating of Large-Span-Cable-Stayed Bridge Based on Response Surface
Finite element (FE) model updating based on the response surface method using load test data of a cable-stayed bridge. This paper presents a case study of a cable-stayed bridge in which the FE model is refined using the response surface method based on ...

An ionic liquid‐based shear‐thickening fluid (ILSTF) exhibits lubricated dynamics from strong shear thickening to impact‐triggered jamming. A persistent nanometric solvation layer around silica governs both the shear thickening saturation in rheology and jamming front propagation under dynamic impact compression.
