Scaling Properties of Spectra in New Exact Solutions of Rotating, Multi-Component Fireball Hydrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesUniverse, 2018
We describe fireballs that rehadronize from a perfect fluid of quark matter, characterized by the lattice QCD equation of state, to a chemically frozen, multi-component mixture, that contains various kinds of observable hadrons.

Very High Lorentz Factor Fireballs and Gamma-Ray Burst Spectra [PDF]

open access: bronze, 2010
Collisionless entrainment of the surrounding matter imports the relativistic baryon component in the Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB) fireball frame. We show that half the fireball energy can be transferred from radiation to the comoving hot motions of baryons ...

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Large Igneous Province Record Through Time and Implications for Secular Environmental Changes and Geological Time‐Scale Boundaries

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 1-26., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

A statistical method to estimate low-energy hadronic cross sections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this article we propose a model based on the Statistical Bootstrap approach to estimate the cross sections of different hadronic reactions up to a few GeV in c.m.s energy.

Soft hadron production in pp interactions up to ISR energies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Soft hadron production is described as a two-step process, where the interaction of the partonic constituents of the colliding hadrons leads to the production of intermediate subsystems (fireballs), which decay subsequently into hadrons.

Multiplicity Fluctuations in the Pion-Fireball Gas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The pion number fluctuations are considered in the system of pions and large mass fireballs decaying finally into pions. A formulation which gives an extension of the model of independent sources is suggested.

Hidden source of high-energy neutrinos in collapsing galactic nucleus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We propose the model of a short-lived very powerful source of high energy neutrinos. It is formed as a result of the dynamical evolution of a galactic nucleus prior to its collapse into a massive black hole and formation of high-luminosity AGN.

External Shock Model for Gamma-Ray Bursts during the Prompt Phase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The hard X-ray and gamma-ray phenomenology of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) can be explained by an external shock model where a single relativistic blast wave interacts with the surrounding medium.

GRB afterglows: deep Newtonian phase and its application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Gamma-ray burst afterglows have been observed for months or even years in a few cases. It deserves noting that at such late stages, the remnants should have entered the deep Newtonian phase, during which the majority of shock-accelerated electrons will ...
