Approximate Controllability of the Degenerate System with the First-Order Term

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2015
We consider the approximate controllability of the degenerate system with the first-order term. The first-order term in the equation cannot be controlled by the diffusion term.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

First order system least squares method for the interface problem of the Stokes equations

open access: yes, 2014
The first order system least squares method for the Stokes equation with discontinuous viscosity and singular force along the interface is proposed and analyzed. First, interface conditions are derived.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Nonlocal boundary value problem for a Lykov's type system of first-order

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2011
In this paper we prove the unique solution of the problem with a shift to a Lykov's type system of differential equations of first order. The proof is given for different values of the generalized operators of fractional integro-differentiation included ...

First-Order Impulses for an Impulsive Stochastic Differential Equation System

open access: yesMathematics
We consider first-order impulses for impulsive stochastic differential equations driven by fractional Brownian motion (fBm) with Hurst parameter H∈(12,1) involving a nonlinear ϕ-Laplacian operator.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

First-Order System Least Squares for Linear Elasticity: Numerical Results

open access: yes, 2000
Two first-order system least squares (FOSLS) methods based on L norms are applied to various boundary value problems of planar linear elasticity. Both use finite element discretization and multigrid solution methods. They are two-stage algorithms that

First-order phase-transition on dynamical Lorentz symmetry breaking system

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
A model of N 4-component massless fermions in a quartic self-interaction based on ref. [19] is investigated in the presence of chemical potential and temperature via optimized perturbation theory that accesses finite-N contributions.
