On planar polynomial vector fields with elementary first integrals
We show that under rather general conditions a polynomial differential system having an elementary first integral already must admit a Darboux first integral, and we explicitly characterize the vector fields in this class.

Exponential Integrators Preserving First Integrals or Lyapunov Functions for Conservative or Dissipative Systems [PDF]
In this paper, combining the ideas of exponential integrators and discrete gradients, we propose and analyze a new structure-preserving exponential scheme for the conservative or dissipative system $\dot{y}=Q(My+\nabla U(y))$, where $Q$ is a $d\times d ...

On the generic nonexistence of first integrals [PDF]
The property of having no C n {C^n} first integrals other than constants is shown to be generic in Diff r ( M ) {\operatorname {Diff} ^r}(M) for each r = 1 , 2 ,

A non-conventional discontinuous Lagrangian for viscous flow [PDF]
Drawing an analogy with quantum mechanics, a new Lagrangian is proposed for a variational formulation of the Navier–Stokes equations which to-date has remained elusive.

Painleve property and the first integrals of nonlinear differential equations
Link between the Painleve property and the first integrals of nonlinear ordinary differential equations in polynomial form is discussed. The form of the first integrals of the nonlinear differential equations is shown to determine by the values of the ...

Front speed enhancement by incompressible flows in three or higher dimensions [PDF]
We study, in dimensions $N\geq 3$, the family of first integrals of an incompressible flow: these are $H^{1}_{loc}$ functions whose level surfaces are tangent to the streamlines of the advective incompressible field.

Projective dynamics and first integrals
We present the theory of tensors with Young tableau symmetry as an efficient computational tool in dealing with the polynomial first integrals of a natural system in classical mechanics.

Reduction of Feynman integrals in the parametric representation II: reduction of tensor integrals
In a recent paper by the author (Chen in JHEP 02:115, 2020), the reduction of Feynman integrals in the parametric representation was considered. Tensor integrals were directly parametrized by using a generator method.
