Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Fecal microbiome analysis uncovers hidden stress effects of low stocking density on rainbow trout

open access: yesAnimal Microbiome
Background Recirculating aquaculture systems can cause chronic stress in fish when stocking density is too high. However, this study tested whether low stocking density can cause fish stress.

Fishery Management Enforcement Gradients to Achieve Fishery Goals

open access: yesFishes
Marine protected areas (MPAs) can allow some fish populations to rebuild within their borders in areas impacted by overfishing, but the effectiveness of reserves is highly dependent on how effectively fishing mortality is controlled, which in turn ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Predicting standing crop using lagged fingerling density of freshwater fish in the Na Thap River of southern Thailand [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2014
This study aimed to develop statistical models for predicting fish standing crop in weight of specific freshwater fish based on fish fingerling density six months earlier.

Integration of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus L.) production Origanum majorana L. and Ocimum basilicum L. using aquaponics technology

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Technology, 2018
This study aims to evaluate the effect of different initial densities of Nile tilapia fingerlings on water quality, fish growth, and production of marjoram (Origanum majorana L.) and sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) in a recirculating aquaponic set up ...

The influence of market and fish stocks density on fishers foraging

open access: yes, 2005
No abstracts are to be cited without prior reference to the author. This study has investigated the spatial structure of fishing effort distribution and also, using Levy flights theory, some properties of fishermen’s foraging. The case studies examined were a selection of North Sea Dutch and French vessels, for which catch and effort data were collected

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

DISTRIBUTION OF PELAGIC FISH IN SOUTH CHINA SEA USING GEOSTATISTICAL APPROACH

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Kelautan Spermonde, 2018
Pelagic fish are spesies that live in water column at depth of 100 to 200 meters from surface. They migrate as a group looking for nutrient and spawning place.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.
