In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

QUALITY ASSURANCE OF TILAPIA FISH (Oreochromis niloticus) FRESHNESS WITH TREATMENT OF WEEDING

open access: yesFood ScienTech Journal, 2020
Fresh fish is a fish that has the same properties as live fish, both in appearance, smell, taste and texture. This research aimed to determine the quality of a fishery product.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

A Fusion Parameter Method for Classifying Freshness of Fish Based on Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Food Quality, 2021
Compared with using a single characteristic parameter of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to classify the freshness of fish samples from different origins, more characteristic parameters could bring higher accuracy as well as complexity ...

ELECTROCHEMICAL TONGUE FOR FISH FRESHNESS EVALUATION

open access: yesSensor Electronics and Microsystem Technologies, 2014
The fish products are sources of high biological value proteins, of several salts, vitamins so being a valid alternative way to animal foods; fish is rich of essential polynsatured fat acids as preventing factors of some diseases as ateriosclerosis and heart ache.

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Sensory Freshness Assessment of Ice Stored Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Agriculture: Food Science and Technology, 2019
Sensory quality characteristics of fish are very important factors on acceptance and market value of the product. Quality assessment of fish should be precise, fast, systematic and comprehensive regarding freshness attributes.

The processing of fish and other marine resources [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
The preservation of freshness in fish (commonly referred to as fish handling) and the conversion of fresh fish into other products can both be considered as methods of processing.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.
