ERI SILKWORM PUPAE MEAL AS A FISH MEAL REPLACEMENT IN JAPANESE QUAIL STARTER DIET

open access: yesThe Journal of Animal and Plant Sciences
A 28-day growth performance trial was conducted to assess the potential of Eri Silkworm (ES) pupae as a partial or complete substitute for fish meal in Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica) diets. A comparative analysis of the nutrient, mineral, and essential amino acid composition of ES pupae, mulberry silkworm (MS) pupae, and fish meal was carried out ...

Replacement of fish meal with cottonseed protein concentrate in Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis): Nutrient digestibility, growth performance, free amino acid profile, and expression of genes related to nutrient metabolism

open access: yesAnimal Nutrition
This study aimed to investigate the application of cottonseed protein concentrate (CPC) in Chinese mitten crabs (Eriocheir sinensis). First, the apparent digestibility coefficient (ADC) of CPC, fish meal and soybean meal were compared in crabs (21.72 ± 0.

DNA metabarcoding reveals wolf dietary patterns in the northern Alps and Jura Mountains

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Understanding predator–prey interactions is crucial for wildlife management and human–wildlife coexistence, particularly in multi‐use landscapes such as western Europe. As wolves Canis lupus recolonize their former habitats, knowledge of their diet is essential for conservation, management and public acceptance.

Dwelling in a post‐fallout landscape: re‐shaping and sustaining life in a former evacuation zone in Fukushima Habiter après la catastrophe : redonner forme au monde et entretenir la vie dans une ancienne zone évacuée à Fukushima

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, EarlyView.
This article explores the activities of daily life in a village neighbouring the TEPCO nuclear power plant in Fukushima.
