Hybrid water electrolysis has emerged as a promising alternative to conventional electrolysis for sustainable hydrogen production. The economic potential of replacing water oxidation with organic substrates is assessed. For each substrate, representative electrocatalysts and mechanistic insights are reviewed to identify design principles for optimized ...

Total syntheses of agelamadin F and (±)‐tauroacidin A were achieved by sodium chlorite (NaClO2)‐mediated oxidative C─N coupling. Nine C15–N–amino acid‐substituted oroidin derivatives were successfully prepared to demonstrate the applicability and versatility of this oxidative coupling reaction.

Risk assessment - fish parasites
Most of the 24 parasite species identified from Devils Lake have been identified downstream The exceptions are Epistylis sp. and Gyrporhynchidae which have not been identified downstream of Devils Lake. However a closely related protozoan genera, Caprinia sp., has been identified from fish in the Red River estuary.

Consumer diversity drives stronger predation in tropical marine communities
Biotic interactions are predicted to be stronger in the tropics compared to higher latitudes, contributing to observed patterns of global biodiversity. While increased consumer diversity and more complex food webs are expected in tropical communities, the trophic dynamics underlying strong regional effects of predation are not well understood.
